Letter to the United Church of Christ and their response |
|
Im my youth I attended a church called The Church of Christ, is the United Church of Christ part of that? To be very honest I'm a firm believer in the seperation of church and state and I'm very afraid of the direction our country is going in. We've become an "exclusive" society when in comes to faith and I can not hold with that belief. In any event run the comercial as many times as you can, it is a bright spot that faith needs badly. Michael Harris
Dear Michael: Although our names are similar, we are much different from the Church of Christ, and are in no way affiliated with them. We support your feelings about separation of church and state, and we are "radically inclusive" in our churches, believing that our welcome mat is out for all people. Thanks so much for your support of our ads, and for writing, Tina Campbell
I say these people need all the support we can give them, whatever we believe in they are a shining example of what religion should be.

1. I saw their "controversial" ad on Nick@Nite recently |
|
Very good. But contained the radical message that "Jesus didn't turn people away..."
All are welcome.
That's the Christianity I remember hearing about.
I haven't been to a church service for decades (excluding weddings and funerals), but if I ever do again, it will be to one of these churches.
