PABAAH Targeting More Bands - Nine Inch Nails This Time
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 09:12 PM by InfoMinister
*Warning the PABAAH site may redirect you if you click on it. Copy and paste instead*

If you check out http://www.pabaah.com ,a conservative boycott group, you'll see that they're currently targeting Nine Inch Nails as well as Skinny Puppy. If you're a fan of the metal, industrial, alternative music scene you may want to take notice. Maybe we need to start sending out our own requests?

They're also targeting some movies such as Oceans Twelve and a few others. Oh yeah, and Spongebob Squarepants. Another interesting thing is that Bill O'reilly has made fun of them on his show according to one article they've posted on their site.

"If you're a fan of the metal, industrial, alternative music scene you may want to take notice."

If you're a fan of democracy and free speech you may want to take notice.

Thanks for the post. I think I put on some NIN just to spite these fuckers.

6. They Have A New Version of The Downward Spiral
It's for people with surround sound systems. It has an extra disk with some unreleased songs. But I don't have surround sound so I'm not getting it.

10. It's A Little of a Gray Area
They have a right to boycott and people here have boycotted because of political reasons. I really enjoy this genre and I already don't hear enough on mainstream radio. NIN gets airplay but some of the more underground acts hardly get any exposure. The occasional Ministry track and that's about it. However, the Michael Moore stuff is way over the top. They want him convicted of treason.

9. Yeah, I Like Their Work
1. The Downward Spiral 2. Broken 3. The Fragile 4. Pretty Hate Machine

However, I enjoy some of the older industrial stuff a little more like Skinny Puppy and Ministry.

12. Huh? Skinny Puppy is/was from Vancouver, not Hollywood.
And they were completely anti-vivisection.

There seems to be better targets to go after if they really feel that's what their purpose in life is.

Ooh, memories of SP on the Vivisect VI Tour. Dry ice, fake blood and fake doggies.

OT: Am I the only one who thinks that Assimilate sounds like an Irish jig?

13. That's The Creepies Irish Jig I've Ever Heard :-)
Yeah, it's kind of strange they're going after these guys. One interesting note. Their latest album probably got higher in the charts than any of their other ones. They have had some exposure. Even a music video on MTV that caught fans way offguard. It's nice to see they're having fun instead of the miserable state they were in during the Last Rights era(I mean literally, the album was great but drug overdoses during the recording sessions).

15. Were You Banned?
Are you connected at a college or somewhere that may have been banned? See, they did that boycott on college radio and banned a whole bunch of people that were probably from universities.

21. About a year ago, "The Daily Show" did a great piece on PABAAH.
They interviewed the yahoo that founded the website. The guy was so clueless, he didn't realize TDS was making fun of his dumb ass!

25. The New Album Came Out This Year
It was called The Greater Wrong of the Right. It sounds kind of like The Process combined with the Download and Ohgr sideprojects. It takes some adjusting for people the fans of their older material that never listened to the recent sideproject stuff.

Pretty much the Ohgr sideproject. The two Ohgr records are better but if I remember right they have that material on the videogame's site for download.

I found out where the files should be. However, Interplay's site appears to be down. They used to be here.

Those people need to get a life. There are more important problems in this world. But then again, they have neither the brains nor the attention span to do the research.

They hate us for our freedom- to create

27. This guy is showing up everywhere lately.
He's so over the top, he might actually be able to help people understand how out of touch the ultra right really is.

I wonder if he really believes the stuff he's spewing, or he's just trying to make money?
