IIRC, one of the reasons the testicles reside outside the body cavity is because the little sperm-buddies don't develop properly in higher temperatures. If 98.6 degrees is too warm for them, I guess it stands to reason that the well-over-100+ degrees that a laptop throws off would cause them some discomfort. It doesn't do wonders for the comfort of the owners of said testes, either.
