Anyone feel like praying?
I've channel surfed back and forth across Scarborough several times in the past week and this woman has been on each time. I vaguely recall thatshe had something to do with all Mel Gibson, all "The Passion" treatment Scarborough harangued about last summer. However, she participated in the hatefest last night presided over by Pat Buchanan. I finally found her website. Note that she has a tab devoted to submitting "prayer commitments" and one devoted to listing said commitments. Unfortunately, that page has none listed. Anyone feel like sending some prayer commitments to her?

3. Upon reading that this woman has nine children
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 10:40 AM by classof56
And two of her links are: "Scottish Cardinal says Catholics must have more children" and "Pope worried about lack of children in the West," just after having read a previous post stating: More than one billion children around the world face a brutal existence because of poverty, war and Aids, the UN children's agency reports...

Well, maybe a "prayer commitment" would be that those of us fortunate enough to live in countries like the US and Canada actively involve ourselves in helping those billion kids around the world who are are trapped in such "brutal existences".

In fact, I'll post that on Ms. Giroux's site and see if she and others she's trying to reach might be willing to commit to that prayer.

Edited for spelling

5. Did you notice the little blurb at the top--"The greatest gift
you can give your child is a sibling"?

7. Oh, yes, I noted that.
Also noted that she has given her children 8 siblings each. Now I confess I'm a "ZPGer", having taken the pledge back in the early 70s that my spouse and I would do no more than reproduce ourselves, so we stopped with two. But--I did give each of them that "greatest gift", though there have been many times throughout their lives when I doubt they've really appreciated that as much as they should. Hmmm...wonder how this woman copes with sibling rivalry 9 times over? Ah, but I'm guessing her kids are perfect, right?

Sheesh!

10. Same here --#1 was going to be an only child but surprise!

#2 showed up 3 years later and they ARE each others greatest gift. Ours, too. She's right about the quote, but 9 kids? Oy vey! She'd better stop now before she has a gay baby--the odds are in favor.

11. And on her home page
The minor rant about not having time - as a mother - to really follow the news media and direction our nation is heading...OMFG what a fucking hypocrite...she has set up this webpage and organization, is doing the rounds of the "newstainment" shows, when she SHOULD be tending to her 9 children. Maybe someone should call child protective services and turn her in for neglect.

6. I just sent her a prayer!
Dear God, I pray to thee to smite the blue state heathens. Please deliver us from the dirty evil homosexuals who are after our children and have mercy on their souls. And, God, we need another wal-mart in our town.

14. It IS! Catch this bit from the "Pastoral Letter..."
"These latest developments are mere symptoms of a vastly more serious disorder. Until the taproot of that disorder is cut, I fear that we will continue to reap the fruit of failed marriages and worsening sexual behavior at every level of society. The disorder? Contraception."

You have to read this! Especially you ZPGers and "deliberately childless" folks like me. O.M.G.
