Bush* just said our 'mission' is to spread peace.
Yea sir! Over 100,000 dead Iraqi civilians are mighty peaceful. They hardly make a sound. Dimson

2. Sort of at odds with other of his statements...
... such as in Woodward's book, where he is quoted as saying he would "export death and destruction to the four corners of the world" in defense of the US.

But, then, this bunch are expert Orwellians. War is peace, after all. *sigh*

7. Domination = Peace
It's the same old crap we've always heard. Everyone wants peace- especially our corporate monarchs. They want everyone to shut-up and bend over. It's the conditions of peace that matter. Peace on what terms?

10. peace without justice is indeed the problem
I'm sure the old slave plantations of the south were peaceful, and
to break the status quo, a war had to happen. It seems that
peace and justice are often at odds... and too much credence has
been given to this word, peace.

America is a nation at peace without justice. What a pyrrhic victory.
Stalin is dead, long live stalin.

12. I watched "Teahouse of the August Moon"
about the US occupation of Okinawa (sp?).

anyway, the commanding general said: by God we're going to bring them democracy if I have to shoot every one of them!

(close to the accurate quote) of course, THIS was a comedy...
