Homophobic letter from American Family association outrages citizens
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 11:49 AM by Mari333
Its good to see people are outraged by the AFA. I find it amusing
that some are outraged by the sexual explicitness of the letters, which, knowing the homophobes at the AFA, is probably ridiculously outrageous and dramatic...

LOUISVILLE, December 8th, 2004, 9 p.m.) -- A sexually explicit letter sent to 65,000 homes in Jefferson County is causing outrage, not only in neighborhoods where it was distributed, but also among members of the Louisville Metro Council. The letter urges people to ask their council representative to vote against the "Fairness Ordinance." And as WAVE 3's Maureen Kyle reports, the letter also targets a religious group.

The language is explicit and the message is clear. "I think its very vindictive -- hateful," says Karen Carpenter. She's one of the 65,000 people who received the literature from Frank Simon with the American Family Association of Kentucky.

3. Hi Mari333.
It's good to see you posting again. I hope you are doing okay. Is Michael back in Iraq?

Regarding that story...I think the AFA folks are seriously closeted homosexuals. I mean why would they describe gay sex acts in detailed description in a letter they mailed to thousands of homes? Sounds like they're part of the Homosexual Agenda!

5. Michael is still in Iraq, yes
I agree...many many many frustrated and closetted people in the AFA, imho. They talk more about what goes on in other people's private lives then any group I can think of. They really need to get a life.

6. no doubt
they described it as negatively and dehumanizingly as possible and didn't stint on stereotypes. Their goal was to force people to see it only one way; their way.

I can imagine there were whips and slings and vegetables and wind up toy mice involved.

11. Wind up toy mice?
Lol.

Aren't these the same people that don't want sex education taught in public schools? Yet they're on a campaign to introduce gay sex to American families!

Looney tunes.

9. They probably don't have anything better to do.
And it's like my friends and I always used to say: Truly straight people don't spend their time sitting around discussing what gay people do in bed.

7. "the language is necessary to define what homosexuality is"
"Even though Frank Simon was unable to be reached for comment, Councilman Doug Hawkins -- who is sponsoring the amendment to the "Fairness Ordinance" -- says he wouldn't necessarily have sent the letter out himself. But he says the language is necessary to define what homosexuality is."

Uh... pardon me? Would you do the same thing to describe heterosexuality? Make it purely about sexuality and nothing else, describe it in graphic detail in a letter sent to FAMILIES (those all important pillars of American society), where a CHILD could read it? Uh-huh... thought not.

12. In our neck of the woods,
The neo-families groups are actually populated by hard core christian-racist types.

Sell discrimination in one venue and successfully deprive them of their rights, then it is a cinch to do it again to the next group of gawdless heathens.

Liberal Lawmaker Suspected of Pushing 'Safe-Sex' Ed Agenda
Waxman Touts Report He Commissioned to Shoot Down Abstinence Education

By Mary Rettig, Bill Fancher, and Jenni Parker
December 8, 2004

(AgapePress) - Leading voices from the abstinence community across the U.S are charging that a report on federally-funded abstinence education programs by California Congressman Henry Waxman is full of false claims and omissions that misrepresent the facts about abstinence.

Last week the Democratic representative released a report on sex education titled "The Content of Federally Funded Abstinence-Only Education Programs." The report has been proffered as an objective analysis of abstinence programs. However, some proponents of abstinence education are condemning it as fraudulent propaganda, commissioned by the congressman to promote a liberal agenda of condom and contraceptive-based sex education of which Planned Parenthood would certainly approve.

Can someone explain to them if we don't have a contraceptive-based sex education, all females would be pregnant? :grr:

16. yes but you seem to be under the mistaken impression
that you should be allowed to have control over your own body and your ability to reproduce.

Don't you know that sex is only for procreation? We need all the little American children you can pop out to grow up and become the teeming hordes of middle class credit slave hyperconsumers so our corporations can show annual growth! Get with the program lady!

I would put an evilgrin here, but I just don't have the heart.
