My University's student government wants to ban military recruiters

And the ROTC.

While I support the idea that my buddies won't ever have to be harassed by recruiters, I fear that passing something like this could seriously backlash, especailly if any of the Wisconsin hate radio jocks gat ahold of this.

1. They must take a stand.

The military discriminates against gays. There is no basis for DADT. If the radio hate jocks get ahold of it, so be it. If it wasn't this...they would spend airtime attacking somebody else. Colleges must have the guts to stand up to these military types.

2. replay of Vietnam era....govt threatened univs with loss of govt $$$
many schools did ban ROTC and recruiters for years......they came back with Reagan's 'it's morning in America' and 'America can stand tall once again' campaigns.......supposedly 'restored' the 'good' position of the military in American society

that the college repukes are spreading the word to local right wingers, who are trying to freep the poll.

Besides, It's only a matter of time before one of the local hate radio jocks out of Wausau gets a hold of this.
