Is Bush the Antichrist?
When President George W. Bush was appointed by five Supreme Court justices in 2000, right-wing Christians sang hosannas for the triumph of God's will over the electorate's. "President Bush is God's man at this hour," said Tim Goeglein, Bush's liaison to evangelicals. Though the Methodist president dishonestly conceals the whole truth about his apocalyptic religious beliefs, he has acted as an evangelist in office. As Esther Kaplan demonstrates in With God on Their Side: How Christian Fundamentalists Trampled Science, Policy, and Democracy in George W. Bush's White House, he's doled out millions to far-right Christian groups, systematically crushed secular left and nonright mainstream organizations from Head Start to the Audubon Society, and replaced policy and scientific experts with comically ignorant yet politically cunning fanatic provocateurs.

6. My husband has talked with Christians
who say Bush is the Anti-Christ. She bases it on some passages from Revelation having to do with appearing very pius but not being so and appealing to the basest instinct of the mob.

8. That's affirmative
Look at what he does, not what he says. He must have his own personal version of the Bible if he thinks he's doing God's will.

9. no
once again...people selectively pick out scriptures that back their desired conclusion...there are many more reasons that bush would NOT be the antichrist (of judeo-christian mythology) than reasons he WOULD be.

and do not have time to go a-searchin'...but there are several that refer to his origin as being from a European land...some of them do fit, however, like his ability to say one thing and do another and not be caught for it...

20. Interesting website
Unfortunately, my birth name is 666 also in Hebrew.
Yeah, there are reasons that Bush could be the antiChrist. Anytime, I see the religious right proclaiming him a good Christian man, I partially believe that. On the otherhand, many other people have been pegged as potential antiChrist's as well.

12. Anti-everything Christ-like yes, but not THE Antichrist
Bush is certainly the opposite of everything that Jesus stood for. But "The Antichrist" is a specific biblical figure whose appearance in the End Times is supposed to herald the end of the world and the fast approachment of Judgement Day. That, I don't buy into. The world isn't ending, though it feels like it sometimes.

14. Cheney is the antichrist, Chimp is just his puppet.
In reality, it makes me uncomfortable calling anyone the antichrist, but it sure does seem to me that this administration is working for the good of humanity but for the evil forces of greed and avarice.

26. No, reasons follow
There is no God. Ok this is the opinion of an atheist but you through out an open question. As there is no God then Jesus (if he existed) was not the son of God. Thus he is not the Christ. As there is no Christ there is no Antichrist.

30. I was reading Revelation 19:11-19 just last night..
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”

19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
