Long Island "supermarket paper" has serious fraud article. |
|
The Long Island Press, which is sent out free, weekly all over Long Island and distributed through drug stores and super markets had a long, comprehensive, non-snarky cover story about voter fraud this week: "Did Every Vote Count?" Charges of vote fraud hand over U.S. Election by Elizabeth Cady Brown http://www.longislandpress.com/v02/i49041209/coverstory_01.asp

DEMOCRACY IN DOUBT Charges Of Vote Fraud Hang Over U.S. Election By Elizabeth Cady Brown
How many suspicious voters does it take to overturn an election? It sounds like a dumb lightbulb joke, but the integrity of our voting system is no laughing matter. As we learned in Florida in 2000, allegations of fraud left unanswered can sow partisan bitterness and undermine Americans' faith in democracy.
Amazingly, the scope and scale of problems surrounding the 2000 election are absolutely dwarfed by the number of mistakes, manipulations and malfunctions alleged during this most recent one. Hundreds of thousands of voters are crying foul: filing claims of orchestrated voter suppression, fraud and corruption among election administrators, unholy alliances between voting machine owners and politicians, and an electoral system flawed to the point of ruin.
"Things went wrong during the election," says Dan Seligson, editor of Electionline, a nonpartisan election watchdog group. "Things definitely went wrong. Voters waited in lines for a very long time, they were sent to the wrong sites, and ballots were miscounted. The question is whether these mistakes exceed the margin that could change the outcome of the election."
While most independent observers are doubtful the challengers can muster enough evidence to persuade courts to overturn the presidential election before the Jan. 6 deadline, the outcry may very well force the feds, the courts and independent groups to conduct major investigations. It has already sparked a grassroots movement to overhaul the electoral system.

2. Those weeklys are kicking ass! |
|
The Orlando Weekly and the Long Island Press are cut from the same cloth. I think that they have become the guardians of America's conscience.

3. It's an excellent read. You'd expect to find it in the Washington Post |
|
Or New York Times. In another day, perhaps.
Here's a good quote:
'I supported Kerry, and I believe Kerry won," says Feder evenly. "But I feel betrayed by the Democratic Party for talking beforehand about how every vote would be counted and then conceding the next day. There was massive fraud in Ohio and Florida, and I think it's very important that we begin to address the electoral fraud." '
