Looking for suggestions for my blog.

I've been doing a blog for almost a year, and I'm not getting as many visitors as I'd like to.

I'm open to suggestions, ways to improve it.

1. For some strange reason, I'm getting 1000 hits per month.

I've been blogging since May 26th.
Join a webring.
Trade links with other bloggers.
Post snippets here on DU and include a link for the rest of the story.

Self promotion just leads to cries of "spammer!" and the like.

Although it's not an editorial policy I endorse, I can see its logic, and I assumed it was common practice.

2. A little too nice

You just need to get a little more agressive in what you put on the blog. You need to throw a little sensationalism out once in a while. Let your personality come through a little.

You're blog is beautifully factual, but some entertainment mixed in with the facts will increase the traffic until it becomes an addiction.

BTW, I visit your blog every day.

8. Good choice of info Eric, but one suggestion:

It sounds a bit news-y and doesn't have enough of your own voice to it. Don't be afraid to be opinionated with it - it'll add some character and spur some discussion. It's your blog so say what you want.
