He;s a Governor. And under no circumstance should we retread any of the 2000 candidates or anyone currently in Congress. It needs to be someone from outside the beltway.

I sooo wish Ed Rendell or someone like him would run. I live in the Philadelphia area and have been saying he should be president for years. He is honest, straightforward (never talks like a politician), smart, progressive, and charismatic.

7. Chuck Hagel was the former chairman of ES&S. |
|
I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. Look into how he was elected. Not pretty.

If Dean gets the nomination I'd vote for him.
My money is going to the Green party though.

Good midwestern populist. A liberal with a great voting record who knows how to appeal to rural voters. He can raise lots of money and win, if he's interested.
Of those on the list, John Edwards.

I'm still puzzled why his name almost never comes up when we're throwing around '08 candidates.
He's from the Midwest, so we'd get the Great Lakes states for sure and MO is a strong possibility.
He's a true-blue liberal, so we won't lose the Democratic left.
He has an almost spotless voting record.
I can barely find anything wrong with him. And he's MY senator.

I'm not sure he's interested, so he may be discouraging that kind of talk. I think he would have won the primary and beat Bush if he had run in '04.

........ "And he's MY senator" ...... he's a senator.
A good guy to be sure ..... no argument on that score.
