Where is the unifying speech? |
|
i'm a relative newbie here. i came for election data i could not find elsewhere. here is my question:
Where is the unifying speech?
Aside from barack obama, I've not heard much of it in a LONG time.
It appears the choices are very polarized so much that people are buying into the red/blue color schemes for states, ignoring that 50/50 of each is just purple. and 48/52 is still a shade of purple.
Does anyone else remember the awesome obama speech about their being not "black or white america, just one america" or something to that effect?
Where is it? WHere can I go to find it? Or are we just all stuck with reactionary robots repeating one extreme or another?

Obama said if a grandmother down the block can't afford the drugs to keep her healthy, that makes me poorer. I am my brother's keeper. He said we are all in this together. --- That kind of thought scares red-ink republicans to death. They just want to look out for themselves, and they want your money and time in order to do it.
So you tell me...how do we unify?

i found his speech refreshing.
i don't think you can unify with people who only look out for themselves. but i don't believe that is half the nation.

2. The people IN power need to give me some reason to trust them |
|
They could start by loosening rules in the house so that democrats are actually allowed to help work on legislation instead of just being reduced to people who bitch about stuff. It would also help if they would not considering finding a cheap way around the fillibuster in the senate.
Oh what am I kidding, Bush lost the left's trust (what little he had left) for all eternity when he invaded Iraq.
