South Park parodies "The Passion of the Christ".Video clip
There's a send up to "the Passion" that http://www.crooksandliars.com/ has just put up clp from.
South Park takes it to the extreme of course.
If you saw the movie like I did, and thought it was a tortue, anti-semetic project, then South Park does it's best to say the Mel is off the wall.

1. I love South park...but I didn't think Passion was anti-semitic
I'm not a Jew...I was brought up Baptist Christian in Puerto Rico (which is not like the crazy Baptist Christians of the south of the U.S....they are more reserved...more Christian-like, if you ask me).

Anyway, I went to the movie really expecting the anti-semitism I heard on the TV, and was shocked to find no instance of unfair anti-semitism. Yes the Pharisees are made out to be really bad guys...but that's what really happened. They didn't believe he was the savior and treated him like shit and did everything they could to punish him, and his disciples. However, in the scene where he is being condemned by the Pharisees, there are some Pharisees who see the witch hunt for what it is and complain/dissent and say that Jesus shouldn't be hurt...they are pushed out by the larger, clerical leaders. So, that scene depicts the division in even the Jewish high clergy regarding Jesus' meaning or actions.

At the end of the movie, the same bad Pharisees regret what they did, when the Temple cracks in half...

So, I thought the movie was a VERY LITERAL interpretation of the Bible's depiction of Jesus last moments...whether or not I even believe in the Bible fairy tale (just gave you a clue) is another thing....but I didn't find the actual product anti-semitism. If particular groups are using it to push an anti-semitic agenda, then I'm not for that.

What I saw in the theatre didn't strike me as anti-semitic

4. Learn the background
The Pharasees were a historic branch of Judaism and the forerunners to modern Judaism the Pharasess did not believe Jesus was not the messiah for many valid interpretations Biblical study. I think the "passion" was not needed America is divided enough and I think Mel Gibson is a insane right wing hack who wishes to capitialize on those rifts.
