To all the marchers: A big thank you!
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who braved the cold, and much more, to go out today. I am so sorry I could not go because of my disability.

I see here that some are disappointed in the numbers. But I know every one of you made a difference. As I like to say, 'See my sig'...It starts with one.

In my view, there are probably many reasons people didn't go. Among them:

-The event wasn't covered by many in the media, including some on Air America;
-Much of our own democratic leadership isn't even talking about voting issues;
-I've often heard people say that their previous protests (in DC, and at the RNC) didn't matter;
-Further, I see a climate of fear increasing in this country, though I think people may not want to talk about it.

The first three reasons may (and I do mean 'may'; I know I can't speak for others) have made people think, 'What's the point?'

But of course, there is a point, and every bit matters. Every word, every deed. It is noticed; it is appreciated; and it makes a difference.

Again, thank you.

1. Large numbers count fer sure,
but always remember the one man and the tanks in China. One person can draw attention. The whole world's eyes were on him. Every effort counts no matter how small. Efforts have a tendency to snowball, small at first, but after rolling it around it gets larger with every turn.

One Ghandi
One Walensa
One Mandela
One Martin Luther King

And look what they did!
