NEED HELP! Counter yellow ribbon idea, need suggestions!
Okay, I for one am SICK of these damn yellow ribbon bumper magnets. I don't know ONE PERSON who DOES NOT support our troops. Are people that insecure they need to remind people that THEY support the troops (as if they are the only ones who do?)

So, I want to make a new counter yellow ribbon magent. On one side going up have the ribbon say "Support Our Troops" & on the other side going down have it read "Be cause Bush Doesn't" Or something like that. I figure it needs to be about three words or so. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Also, where can I get this made? I thought this might make a nice Christmas present for some friends. Also, does that sound like I'm pushing it? Is it considered bad taste? Any suggestions or tips would be GREAT!

16. Actually, I'm thinking Reprint of yellow ribbon
A yellow ribbon that says "We Support Soldiers" or "We Support Peacekeepers".

I personally think referring to people in our military as "Troops" is disrespectful and classless. Our "Troops" are the personnel over there torturing Prisoners and killing defenseless Iraqis. Our "Soldiers" and "Peacekeepers" are the personnel over there trying to do the right thing in a humanitarian and civil fashion with honor and compassion.

6. "I support our troops, not Bush's "oops!"
I've seen this saying, but can't remember in what context (bumper sticker, protest sign, demonstration flier, etc.)

11. I really like the red ribbon idea
Wonder if someone went into a convenient store & asked if they could sell these & put them on their counter how many people would offended? I'd MUCH rather see a red ribbon on a car than a yellow one!

8. Why do you support them?
> I don't know ONE PERSON who DOES NOT support our troops.

And I don't know a single person who does. Why would you support them when they're the ones that give Bushie his power. Without their voluntary service to his cause, Iraq wouldn't be the horrible cities of death it is today. Why would you support the Bush-enablers?

9. There aren't enough of them to have given Bush his power
so that's wrong, right off the top. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Second, most people in the military come from working class backgrounds. What kind of leftist doesn't support members of the working class?

And what is this piece of incoherency? "Iraq wouldn't be the horrible cities of death..." What, do you write Bush's speeches with grammar like that?

18. No need to apologize...
We just disagree, strongly.

I don't care about what sort of background someone comes from when then enable someone like Bush to do the things he does, they're in the wrong. If it wasn't for them, he wouldn't be able to do all of those horrible things he's done.

22. Our troops don't enable bush...apparently you don't keep up
It used to be (especially recently under Clinton) that one could join the military, serve their term - during peacetime no less - and receive a college education or some training. They didn't have to worry about serving in an active conflict or war. Many people joined because it gave them opportunities they would otherwise have been denied.
Now, people are stuck in the military via the backdoor draft. Their terms are up, they don't want to re-enlist and they aren't allowed to go home because the military is overwhelmed.
You must have missed the statistics that said that nearly half of the troops in Iraq WILL NOT re-enlist. The military/govt. is doing their damnedest to recruit for the service, and it isn't working.

My husband also mentioned that you can't hold it against them for doing their JOB. Often times, many Americans go to work everyday to a job they hate. I'm sure that happens in the military too. I am also sure that those men and women would rather do their job than get court-martialed and a dishonorable discharge.

You are wrong for what you said. This isn't simple disagreement. You are looking from a very narrow view.
I support our troops. I want them to come home because they don't deserve this. They didn't ask for this, the asshole of a president told them to do it and they are simply trained to follow orders. This is exactly why it is possible to support our troops but not our govt.

21. If they can make a magnet the shape of a ribbon.....
I'd like to see them make some peace signs. (but i have heard that these magnets aren't too good for the finish of your car, but my car is past it's prime anyway...i'd put a peace sign on !)
