mob law..lynch dem, kill them.
Even my grandparents were against the death penalty. This planet is in a mess...the death penalty is as criminal as the initial crime. Could someone please tell me why all this time is being spent on this case.

And, as another poster pointed out, it's disgusting that some people cheered.

It doesn't matter who it is. However, some people like Osama bin Laden, who are military enemies of the U.S., should be killed in battle.

Either he lives 10+ years alone in his own jail cell with the possibility of re-opening his case or parole, or he becomes the rape toy of lifers inmates...with the crime he's convicted of? My oh my...he'll get it bad with the others.

1. You know the best part about all those executions in Texas? Fewer Texans.
2. If me must have the death penalty, then we need to get rid of this "cruel and unusual" business. You want to deter crime? Put the next motherfucker in a wood chipper. And put it on Pay-Per-View.
3. I would personally rather die then be locked up with a bunch of maniacs constantly trying to kill each other.

22. My argument against the death penalty |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 05:48 PM by Hippo_Tron
Most political candidates who oppose the death penalty are often asked the question, if your spouse was raped and murdered wouldn't you want that person to recieve the death penalty? Although most don't give the following answer for fear of being hypocritical, this is the truth. If your spouse was raped or mudered you would want to beat the person to death with your bare hands, it's human nature to seek vengence in such a way. But the fact is that we have a criminal justice system in this country for that VERY reason. Do we really want to live in a country where the family members of murder and rape victims get to play judge and jury? Of course not. Justice is not about what the family members of the victim want, it is about the best interest of the state. This disputes the only viable argument for the death penalty, that it is needed to serve justice because the other arguments: cheaper and a deterrant to crime have beeen factually disproven.

25. Here! Here!...NO DEATH PENALTY...INSANITY!!!!! |
|
I prefer, and I know this is also contriversial, humiliation! Crime is committed by people over and over because of annonimity. I want a monthly parade of inmates of the local jail through the streets of the city, with school children attending..and adults booing and hissing at the paraded inmates. This will make children NOT want to be like the criminals...no matter how much money they make in their criminal enterprises!
The stockades worked...humiliation is so much more effective as a preventative than 50 years to life! JMHO

No argument from me on this one. I just have problems with the death penalty-it doesn't deter crime and the number of cases that have been overturned on DNA evidence is staggering. Is Peterson a shit? Yes. Do I think he did it? Absolutely. But being on death row is going to be easier on him than being sentenced to life because they get "perks" and are segregated from the general prison population. It's just a little bit too good for him in my opinion.
