1. You need another option, because I do watch news on cable... |
|
...networks and read on-line newspapers. DU is like my news magazine and local barber shop/general store where the community (in this case the global village) point me in certain directions or keep me abreast of breaking events.

2. I scan the MSM web sites to see what they are spinning that day |
|
then hit DU to find out what's really going on-- as well as to learn a few wacko rumors. DU= 90% news, 10% tabloid! Which puts it miles ahead of the MSM.

6. well, not exactly "from DU" . . . |
|
I use DU as a news index/filter more than a news source . . . virtually every important news item and commentary eventually passes through these boards, and most of the news I "get from DU" is actually news from other sources that I access through links posted here . . . so I guess you could say I get most of my news through DU rather than from DU . . .

It's not a push poll. It's for a First Amendment theory class, but I'll not bore you with the details.

I get news or information from where ever I can get it. Mostly all the while looking at the agenda before checking out what is reported is the best way to work it. Everything thats communicated in anyway has an agenda attached to it. Figuring out if and why you are with the band wagon of what its about is the real key.
Thinking always comes before reacting. Most news is irrelevant unless the someone or something is trying to drill into your head need you think that it's important. The 9/11 episode is in that realm. Really it's not that big a deal in the scope of things. Even just the immediate reaction was way more devastating. If people don't understand the background of why things take place then it's so much more easy to manipulate them.
Somethings going to happen to wake people up and I just hope they act with measured and educated responses when they do
