When Mr. Gold did his spiel about how the mission of the UN was to promote peace and stability, so isn't it oh so ironic that Syria, who supports the Iraqi opposition, gets a seat at the Security Council, I was expecting Jon to point out the irony of the US having a permanent seat even though they invaded another country. Kinda disappointed he didn't.
It was a strange interview. Usually when he has a right-wing guest, there's just friendly meaningless banter. This is the most partisan shilling I've ever seen in one of his interviews. (Granted I miss the show pretty frequently.)

5. I saw Dore Gold once raving on about how evil terrorists were... |
|
until the interviewer asked him if the people who blew up the King David Hotel were terrorists. He replied "well, that was a different time"...
From that moment on I knew what he stood for. Nothing.

9. No, no, no, those were patriots and nation-builders who blew up... |
|
the King David Hotel. We wouldn't give so much of our foreign aid to a nation founded by murderers, would we?

he was always on the side of the good guys. There are plenty of people who would consider the Israeli army under Sharon a group of terrorists at this point. He is just like Bush- good vs evil, all black or white..no shades of gray. Things never change. HAH! If I remember correctly Japan and Germany were our enemies in WWII and they are our Allies now. He had some nerve saying that the UN had to make hard and fast moral rules about who should have rights in the UN!!!

10. He was not only ignorant, but he was the most CRASHING BORE |
|
who has ever been a guest on TDS. He made Christopher Hitchens look highly entertaining by comparison. I think JS was easy on him partially because he couldn't figure out how to make this guy shut up or smile. And I also think JS himself was bored and he knew the guy was a lost cause.
I'm getting tired of these numbnuts tearing down the UN and talking about the "Oil-for-Food" program smokescreen.
