Poll question: Should Imperial Amerika have a new National Anthem? If so, what song? |
|
It just doesn't seem right that we keep singing the Star Spangled Banner now that the Old Republic, the USA, has joined the Roman and Weimar Republics on the Ash Heap of History.
I mean, we all KNOW why it is still sung. For the same reason the Imperial Senate was kept around by Caeser...to provide the illusion of freedom and continuity to an enslaved people.
But this is NOT the Old American Republic, and it is a disgrace to sing the lyics
o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
when what Imperial Amerika is now is the land of TV and the home of the (virtual) slave.
So, do you agree or disagree? Should we keep the song of a Free Nation when we clearly no longer ARE a Free Nation?
If not, what should our new song be for this New Nation, born in Fraud and Tyranny and dedicated to the ideal that All Animals are Equal but Some Are More Equal than Others, as well as Ignorance is Strength.
Here are my two song suggestions for the Imperial Amerikan National Anthem:
1) Darth Vader's March from "Star Wars", titled I believe "Imperial Attack.
2) Iron Maiden's "Two Minutes to Midnight".
Thoughts? Comments? Flames?

but it is good to see you.
I had just gotten so I could tolerate that damned song and just begun to stand for it again about 10 years ago. It will now take a cattle prod to get me off my butt for it. How about "Hail to the Chief?"

Didn't Ashcroft require it to be sung during his office's morning prayer time?

8. Metallica - Master of Puppets |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 09:24 AM by DireStrike
End of passion play, crumbling away I’m your source of self-destruction Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear Leading on your deaths construction
(chorus:) Taste me you will see More is all you need You’re dedicated to How I’m killing you
Come crawling faster Obey your master Your life burns faster Obey your master Master
Master of puppets I’m pulling your strings Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams Blinded by me, you can’t see a thing Just call my name, `cause I’ll hear you scream Master Master Just call my name, `cause I’ll hear you scream Master Master (end chorus)
Needlework the way, never you betray Life of death becoming clearer Pain monopoly, ritual misery Chop your breakfast on a mirror
(chorus)
Master, master, where’s the dreams that I’ve been after? Master, master, you promised only lies Laughter, laughter, all I hear and see is laughter Laughter, laughter, laughing at my cries
Hell is worth all that, natural habitat Just a rhyme without a reason Neverending maze, drift on numbered days Now your life is out of season
(chorus) (fade out with evil laughter)

15. I'm not entirely sure it's on an album |
|
I found the MP3 laying on the side of the information superhighway. It was labeled 'Star Wars Imperial March - Metallica'.
However, googling reveals that it may have been done for the PC game 'Force Commander', and there is considerable discussion as to whether it's Metallica or whether it's actually Megadeath. It's an instrumental, so it's impossible for me to determine.
OTOH, there is more than one metal version of it -- and the live version I have may be a different one than the one in the computer game. It's definately a live recording, but I can't figure out what album it's on. More than one person seems to think the live version IS Metallica after all. So sayeth Google.
Gnutella + "Imperial March Metallica" -> the MP3 I'm referring to.

Seems with a "LIBERAL" (OH that WORD!) translation, it would work pretty good.
We seem to be perfecting what Stalinism wanted to do anyway...

16. Mark Twain's "The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Updated"... |
|
Mine eyes have seen the orgy of the launching of the Sword; He is searching out the hoardings where the stranger's wealth is stored; He hath loosed his fateful lightnings, and with woe and death has scored; His lust is marching on.
I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps; They have builded him an altar in the Eastern dews and damps; I have read his doomful mission by the dim and flaring lamps-- His night is marching on.
I have read his bandit gospel writ in burnished rows of steel: "As ye deal with my pretensions, so with you my wrath shall deal; Let the faithless son of Freedom crush the patriot with his heel; Lo, Greed is marching on!"
We have legalized the strumpet and are guarding her retreat; Greed is seeking out commercial souls before his judgement seat; O, be swift, ye clods, to answer him! be jubilant my feet! Our god is marching on!
In a sordid slime harmonious Greed was born in yonder ditch, With a longing in his bosom--and for others' goods an itch. As Christ died to make men holy, let men die to make us rich-- Our god is marching on
