So many questions: like 1) who the hell elected him the spokesperson of virtue? 2) where does all the cash come from for all the AAR ads? 3) why is there a snippet of bombing sounds before and after the ads? Strange. 4) yes, I've been to his website, and I'm still confused.
Don't want to post link, because I don't want to make it seem like I'm pitching for him-- if you listen to AAR you know what the website is... *unless* AAR ads are different in different markets, but anyway, I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about.
So, WTF Gola?

1. New age prophet is my guess |

money? probably has a org or an angel donor.
I rather like the message, it takes many listenings to grasp the meaning due to the advanced vocabulary.
This type of character is not uncommon in Santa Fe. Don;t know anything about Gola though...

his ads irritate the shit out of me. Peaked my curiosity the first time I heard it but the following sixty billion times kind of quashed it.

At first I thought his accent and speech patterns were hypnotic, but now that I have the copy memorized from first to last word (including mouth clicks and other details), I turn down the radio when his ads come on.
(of course, I *do* listen to all the other ads. gotta support AAR advertisers, ya know.)

The ability to use a thesaurus doesn't impress me much. I find that people who are excessively verbose are either trying to snow you, or are dressing thoughts and arguments that are actually rather pedestrian in ornate speech. Anyone can tell you that if you really want to influence people and/or start some sort of general dialogue, you use language that is simple and to the point...something the Repubs do very well. One thing Gola's ads do, in my opinion, is serve as an example for progressives to avoid when framing their arguments.

I thought the same thing about his website too, so wordy that I felt right off the bat he's just trying to impress.

I've had the same question about (2) (how they afford the ads) every time I hear it. And regarding (3), I thought those were thunder sounds. :)
In the commercial, the remarks are directed to the president, but I have a hard time believing he'd understand them. (ON EDIT: Not that he's listening :))
Nothing against the site or the cause, just not sure of the effectiveness of its marketing.

7. I Find Myself Saying WTF Every Time I Hear One Of Those Ads.... |

I always thought it was a Sirius commercial. I've never heard anyone talk so much and say so little.
