DUers, please tell the Agent Mike story.

I have seen references to Agent Mike, and would truly love to read all about it. Advanced search is still shut down, so would some old-timers indulge in some DU history? I, for one, would be grateful.

Bev Harris reported on DU that FBI Agent Mike was monitoring her and DUers. He was reading our posts. There were several long threads where DUers said :hi: to Agent Mike. We like to welcome the lurkers.

8. I've had this theory ...

... more like a gut feeling really, that the "Agent Mike" we all don't know and scarcely think about is an IRS agent of some sort. That, and all it implies, explains just about everything.

Not wanting to engage in the piling on here, so I'll keep the rest to myself of what has run around in my head during my various observations of all this.

I don't know if this was ever proven or disproved. I wasn't around here back then to know what was said. I held some reservations about the validity of it back then and still do now. While the concept is very plausible, I've still never been 100% convinced it was true. :shrug:

No matter what, it IS the story behind Agent Mike. :)
