I voted for Iran.

I am thinking that the neocons don't have enough self control to wait until we are ready to invade Iran properly and may just move ahead with "selective bombing".

If Iran does nothing (as a response), then it is another "triumph" for neocon "policy". If Iran responds with any attacks "above the radar", then we either nuke them -- or use this response as an excuse for the draft and an invasion. And if Iran responds with "below the radar" attacks, these can be either ignored or used as an excuse for more attacks -- on any scale.

In the neocon mind, this would be a pretty convincing plan. Of course, they wouldn't give any consideration to what might go wrong with their plans -- and any sort of disaster would just be turned into an opportunity to crack down on domestic opposition, and move onto the next stage in their agenda.

But I think that the plethora of possible targets and the lack of "ground" resources has the neocons in somewhat of a tizzy. Maybe someone should give them an ice cream cone to distract them for a time.

A key question is whether or not the neocons will be stupid enough to involve Israel (directly) in their next folly. This would be a disaster and the US would never be able to overcome the perception that we were the tool of extremist Israeli policies.

But then, this sort of thinking is beyond most neocons -- at least those who aren't deliberately trying to bring about the end of the world.

Oh well, I wasn't planning on living forever anyway.

In any event, I expect nothing to happen until after the "election" in Iraq... But you never know -- they have that man date after all.
