Poll question: Are you still watching the Corporate media whores?
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 02:42 AM by Melodybe
Seriously is there any one here that still even bothers, all I ask is why? Why would you do that to yourself? Please turn that shit off and tell everyone you know to turn it off.

1. I personally only watch TDS, listen to AAR, and go on line

It is so great when you actually turn that shit off, I highly recommend it.

If there was any doubt left in your mind that they will do whateve Bushco wants, I remind you that GE makes ten times the money in the weapons we buy from them and the Saudi's own AOL/Time/Warner, AOL/Time/Warner owns damn near everything, Time, Newsweek, USA Today, CNN.

Free yourself from their psychological warfare, turn them off.

3. Add Pacifica especially Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!
That is as news dense an hour as you can get. No bullshit, no puppy down a well, Scott Peterson, PR flak press releases. She asks harder questions of DEMOCRATS than the msm does.

6. Amen to DEMOCRACY NOW!
I first heard about it on Kerry's old forum. I'm so glad I saw the note that day about Link TV. Later I discovered Free Speech TV. Two independent channels right on my Dish Network satellite I didn't even KNOW about. So glad I know now.

4. Thank heavens for Air America
At a recent protest, it was amazing how many people showed up because they heard about it on AAR.

11. Not intentionally
But I was just watching CNN, where they had Saddam's putative attorney on, being interviewed by a woman. She had facts, figures, historical citations, references to the 1971 Iraq constitution, and on and on. She was really grilling the guy. I couldn't help but contrast that with CNN's usual supine attitude toward figures from the corrupt Bush administration. Rumsfeld or some other insipid mouthpiece can sit there and say that black is white or water isn't wet, and the CNN chucklehead usually just sits there and lets the spew flow.

And the conclusion of those interviews is always "Thank you very much for pissing down my leg. I think it's raining. Now let's go see the latest breathless development from the set of the latest Hollywood action movie!"

13. I only read DU for news anymore. I have just about given up TV since the
election.

I'll watch some movies and some animal shows. I'd get rid of it completely if my wife didn't watch so many reality shows and make over shows. Our newspaper is riech wing also so if my wife doesn't read it, it goes right in the trash first thing.

My brother who is a Catholic priest is pretty upset about the election also and when we discussed it we agreed the thing to do was to think globally and act locally. To us that means to work and take care of those close to us and have concerns for all.

I'm pretty certain that the right wing conservative thing will play it self out over time. I just hope the damage it will cause will not be too hard to fix or take to long to fix.
I doubt that we will see any sanity in the country or news for quite some time and the coming progressive movement my not come in my lifetime but it will. Just as we went from Democratic rule in the 60's and 70's to Republican rule now, things will turn back to us. I don't look forward to the coming years but this thing has to have it's time on stage. That is the natural order of things.
