UN Conference Shuts Up Reporter; Calls Global Warming Questions "Silly"
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewFlash.asp?Page=%5CThisHour%5CArchive%5CNTH20041216w.html
Buenos Aires, Argentina (CNSNews.com) - The moderator of a panel discussion at the United Nations climate change conference here shut down questioning by a reporter who asked about the science behind global warming claims, calling such questions "silly." The panel discussion featured representatives of the Inuit people, who were announcing their intention to seek a ruling from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights against the United States "for causing global warming and its devastating impacts." But when asked by CNSNews.com to defend the science behind the group's legal challenge, the moderator of the event cut off the reporter's questions and said he was "going to put a stop to this." CNSNews.com had asked the panelists how they could be scientifically certain that any potential warming in the Arctic is the fault of humans and specifically the fault of the United States.

1. Destroying the planet is so "quaint"!! What planet do they
plan on living on? These people can pull all of the dirtiest tricks in the history of man, and Nature will have the last say.

3. Reporter: "Please explain millions of hours of scientific research...
... in one answer to one question at a news conference."

Uh, yeah. Sure. That way you wouldn't have to read any of the reports or literature and actually educate yourself, right?

I mean, how are you supposed to hang onto blind biases with all sortsa facts getting in the way?

It's the plutocrats' version of the evolution "debate."

4. He may need to talk to the village in Alaska that has to move.
Would think they would just look at what is going on. You know I have known people like this. They just sit back and say God will fix it all. Drives one nuts but I hardly think the world can be run this way. I guess we will have to hope the People of EU and Asia will produce some people of science that can help us.

5. CNSNews...gimme a f'in break!
That hack rag is nearly as responsible for the damage to people's thinking as FoxNews. Friend of mine gets nearly all his info from CNS for the past couple of years; once upon a time, only a few years ago...he understood and accepted global warming and made fun of his brother-in-law who said it was hogwash. Now, he says he doesn't 'believe' in global warming.

Hack rag, hack rag, hack rag!

6. Why must the regressives be so contrarian?
What do they expect to gain from denying global warming? I just don't get it.

8. We can't wait until it is proven beyond a doubt!
We must act now or it will be too late. Suppose you had a life threatening disease, would you want to wait until you knew the cause before you started to do something about it? You could be dead before you found out.

10. I think the key word is "certainty"
(Dons flame proof suit.) There is no absolute proof that a speculated global warming disaster will be caused by human activity. Having said that, I believe that it is the consensus of most environmental scientists that waiting to find out if it is true, is irresponsible and probably disastrous, and I concur with that.

Furthermore, anyone who asserts there is no such thing as global warming is pretty nuts. It's just words like certain and proof that overstate the case (not the danger.)
