is this legit reporting? or a violation of victims rights?
Somebody posted about the crime in Skidmore MO...so I went and looked it up.

The sheriffs dept is not releasing the name of the victim at this time...but the reporter talked to a neighbor who told her/him that the victim and her husband raise and sell rat terrier dogs...so the reporter looked that up on the internet and matched the address to the names of a couple who sell rat terrier dogs and published the name of the *believed to be* name of the victim....

Should a reporter do this?

1. it is neither in IMO
i don't think it should be illegal thats for sure, but i do think its classless, crass, and adds nothing of value to the news

5. not necessarily meaning legal or illegal..just questioning if a reporter
*should* do this..is it ethical? (and ethical doesn't necessarily mean legal)...
