HEADS UP ON "20/20" SEGMENT TONIGHT!!!

I was watching TV last night and saw a commercial for tonight's episode of "20/20". I don't usually watch this show but tonight's episode looks interesting. It is about Homeland Security officials, including Tom Ridge, having some sort of "meeting" in Hawaii. The meeting, however, looks like nothing more than a junket. The little that I saw in the commercial looked pretty damning. I'll definitely be tuning in tonight to see what was uncovered. I think it is some kind of hidden camera report.

...more often. We all know this rotten corpse of an admin is stuffed full of reeking scandals and corruption. All it takes is the media to do a little investigating and then publish the facts. Actually rather surprised to hear that ABC is willing to do this story.

I still remember the NPR interview I heard with a professor from the UK (oxbridge) who studied the dynamics of political scandal. His findings: the extent of media coverage determined the severity of the scandal. I.e., no matter how egregious the conduct, no coverage = no scandal. So, to the average 'murkan, the * admin may appear comparatively clean because the media gives them pass after pass after pass...gets damn frustrating when we know the real score.
