Neo-con Uncle Sends Christmas Card Printed by NRA! What?!!
This is outrageous. There is a typical winter scene printed on the front: snowman, log cabin, sled, shooting star. The work of art is entitled "PEACE ON EARTH!!!!" by Jesse Barnes.

On the inside it says "Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year." Then my uncle and aunt had their names imprinted along with "Jesus: The Reason for the Season!"

On the back it has the NRA logo, name, and address.

Does anyone else see the irony in this? What the HELL does the NRA have to do with Jesus being the reason for the season?

I think I need a drink.

1. DON'T SEND THEM A CARD!
Custom would dictate they not send you one next year.

19. How about a card for the New Year?
Those children won't be having such a happy new year.

Geebus, I can't believe the nerve of these neo-cons. :grr:

2. That's the second time in as many minutes I've seen that stupid phrase
The other was in the transcript of Kenneth Blackwell on the Tavis Smiley show.

And yes, it's unbelievable that the NRA would print cards that say "Peace on Earth." It's as if the Republicans printed one that said, "Count Every Vote."

This uncle is such a hypocrite...going around acting so self-righteous. A couple of years ago he left my aunt for another woman, carried on with her for awhile, then went back to my aunt. :eyes:

8. Paganism is the reason for the season.
No one knows Jesus's birth date (it ceertainly is not in the bible). So they continued the pagan traditions that already occured during this time of year and gave it a christian flair.

18. As a Pagan, I don't mind sharing this time of year with others
but I'm tired of listening to them claim that my faith stole theirs!

They have it backwards. So typical of freeps. It's always all about them and their suffering. Biggest bunch of cry-babies I ever saw.

20. Christians pushed out/criminalized paganism hundreds of years ago
Whenever a new religion comes along, it always demonizes the current dominant religion. The pentagram is a meaningful, natural symbol, but the christian religion made it out to be demon worship. Quite the opposite. Amazing how this misconception still persists today.

21. Pentagram
In the medieval church the pentagram was used as a symbol for the 5 wounds of Jesus.

29. That's the best response, imho. Right-wingers tend to forget about every
single other right and some libs seem to forget about the 2nd, also. I think both could learn to get along on this.

But I decided against it.
