Ask someone who is anti-ACLU for their wallet or purse...
then open it. Take out a few credit cards and their driver's license. Write down some account numbers and their DL number.

Somewhere along this routine they should grab their stuff back.

I tired of people who think that this homeland stuff is OK with them. They will trust the government with their information because "I haven't anything to hide."

I think that taking their wallet or purse and looking in it will make the point. Privacy is pretty important.

Your thoughts?

1. Telling them that the ACLU is defending Rush
on his drug charges usually snaps them out of it for a few seconds.

2. LOL
might also get you whacked on the head pretty hard before you've made your point, but it is a good point.

I put my ACLU card in my wallet (got it just recently) in a wonderful place: everytime I open my wallet you can't HELP but see the big ACLU letters on the top of the card. I've noticed looks.

3. Well I teach with some Stepford types. For a while I couldn't think
of a response to their indifference to our shrinking rights. They just shrug and say "I have nothing to hide."

It finally dawned on me to ask for their stuff. After all, who is the government but some individuals just like me, who might get their jollies looking into someone else's personal details.

Hell, that government person might even be one of my student's parents!
