I tune in to hate radio myself when AAR on the AM band is out of range...

most of the adverts are from luxurious services and big tix items (plastic surgery and such) the remainder is the same businesses that advertise on AAR (they're both clearchannel stations)

7. Almost all. In fact I know quite a few former democrats who were truckers

or salesmen who rode around all day and were exposed to Rush and changed their registration and became rabid liberal hating Republicans. What's funny is one I know lost his job and started listening to regular TV news and NPR and reverted to a Dem.

10. The interesting part is this:

Moderates and progressives are open minded enough to at least tune in to hate media once in a while but the vast majority of rabid freepers will not taint their newly washed brains to listen to ANY OTHER MEDIA...

that includes NPR, BBC, etc.

11. Almost everybody I know

We have about sixty employees in our building in Lawton, Oklahoma. I know only two other liberals. Everybody watches Fox News. So, the conversations all day are rehashes from the O'Reilly Factor and other crap on Faux News:

Blah, blah, blah ...flat taxes ...blah, blah, blah...liberals hate relgiion...blah, blah, blah...Michael Moore is a traitor...blah, blah, blah...Gay people are destroying the holy sacrament of marriage...marriage is a 6000 year old institution (creation theory going back to Adam and Eve - I am not quite sure who married them)...blah, blah, blah...those swift boat veterans make valid points

What's sad is most of these people are mature in their forties or fifties. Some have graduate degrees and a few have Ph.Ds.

The only place in town, where you can buy any magazine that is not the National Review or Weekly Standard is Hastings. The Nation and Progressive go quickly. I subscribed to the Progressive, so I can at least get something decent in the mail to read.

We have like three churches on every block, but only a small handful help the poor - my church (Disciples of Christ), the Unitarians, the Methodists, and the very poor Black chruches. The Mega Churches only help their own.

A few years ago, I placed a Darwin Fish on my car. I actually had someone call me the Antichrist, because Evolution was Satanism.

I can't wait to leave in a few years.
