From a Clarkie sipping some frangelico in her decaf.
I think Clark could have taken him. Especially if he had worn his Speedo on the campaign trail.

3. He got to a late start with late funding. |
|
Alot of people like him, like his success, his resume, and the fact that he can think on his feet. And he isn't effing afraid of anything that I know of. I like his wife, Girt, also. She's a tough, lovely, smart woman, which means the RNC would have pounded her.

8. I don't think it was his late start or late funding. |
|
My personal observation was that the MSM (media) shut him out like I've never seen before for any candidate on the primary trail in a contentious season. For goodness' sakes, they gave EVERYONE more coverage. I never saw the man on TV. I don't think they wanted his message out. Gee, wonder why...

14. Well, you're right - he was on TV. |
|
That said, he was not regularly on mainstream, optimum hours TV, or even the nightly newscasts. He would be on at 6am, 11pm or 1am; the main prime time hours, he was shut out - at least in my state (Michigan). It was INFURIATING and regular enough that I learned to blow it off. That's what I am getting at.

Yeah! It was an eye-opener. Because I was so enthusiastically supporting him, I had read up on his positions and watched interviews and CSPAN stump speeches. That Clark was not the same person as the one that was portrayed in the MSM. Their attitude was dismissive, contemptuous, and arrogant. I was livid! It was my first exposure to those crooked bastards, and I'll never forgive them for how they treated such an incredible candidate.
When Wes Jr lashed out at the press during the campaign, a lot of Clarkies were cheering him on. We all felt his frustration and anger.

Wes is a fine human being and extremely genuine. I'm a pretty shrewd judge of character, or so I'm told, and my experience tends to bear that out.
Clark has always been A1 in my book. Doesn't lie, doesn't hide from questions, and pulls no punches. I like him a lot.

Remember that Fox interview where the General squashed a anchor/jackass who questioned his loyalty to the troops? Someone nick-named him General Smackdown. It was hilarious!

I was a moderate/liberal Republican. after getting into debates with conservaties, i realized who i was. i see things in pragmatic ways, and the Democratic Party was the best in my ideology, so i switched.

My dad was at some convention where they had that company Clark was chairman of (or atleast I think it was chairman). The company makes all sorts of cool futuristic bikes and stuff.
He showed me the NYT article, knowing I'd be interested.
I hope he runs again. He hasn't ruled it out. I think he'd have a chance.

19. Clark/Dean or Dean/Clark would decimate all |
|
so Rove stopped it early on. KKKarl wanted to face John Kerry and John Edwards.
establishment vs. establishment
the funny thing about Clark is that he sort of is an establishment insider and sort of isn't at the same time. like Al Gore

an outsider, mitiliary experience, from a battleground state, southern, couldnt be accused of lack of patriotism, humble roots, yet a scholar. he was the dream candidate. though only thing i can think of negative was the allusion to General McCellen against Lincoln in 1864, i think. clark wouldhave appealed to all. as a former rockerfeller like republican i would know, he always appealed to me. im still very much drunk right now, im in my dorm room indulging on the liquor buti mean everything i say.
