Who do you think will be the "Stand Up Democratic Senator" when Maxine Waters (D-God Bless her) and the Congressional Black Caucus goes, one more time, to the Senate for support in challenging the election?

The was a national disgrace in 2001. Will it be a national disgrace again in 2005?

Will even one of the Democratic senators stand up? Or will we have to hope that one of the Republican senators do it for us?

1. I'd LIKE to say it'll be mine (Dayton), but I know it won't ever be.
And when you can't even get the most liberal member of the Senate to stand up, it really IS a disgrace.

5. I wish it would be Mark, too.
But he's got a tough reelection coming up in 2 years and the Repukes will make a big enough deal of his closing his Washington office. He needs to play it a little safe. Remember, not even Wellstone stepped forward in 2000.

I was hoping Robert Byrd would come forward. Otherwise, anyone who was reelected this year should do it.

6. I suppose you ARE right - and honestly, it's incredibly selfish of me,
but I would hate to (as I've already volunteered to, well, volunteer) and I would hate for the rest of the volunteer to have to deal with the spin of that on top of the spin of the office closing (which, to me, makes perfect sense, but to the Republicans it makes him a "coward" - whatever). It's difficult. You want your senator to stand up, but you don't want him to risk his job. Ah, politics.

7. Yeah
Love Dayton, too bad he probably won't have the cajones to stand up!

2. No One
Unfortunately, I don't think a single Senator will sign on to the challenge, and that makes me sad.

Hello Democratic Senators--are you listening? I've got 2 words for you: Political Cowardice!
