Can we compile a REAL history of W's first term?
Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 10:33 AM by underpants
Since it is getting near the "Year in review" period of the news lets look back on W first term.

The biggies we all know:
-Complete abject failure and not seeming to care about his first responsibility-defending America against attack
-Lying throw his and others' teeth into a war against a sovereign nation that we controlled 40% of and was no threat to anyone
-Turning the US into a crony capitalistic banana republic and rogue nation
-Massive tax cuts to the rich and humongous deficits

No I am looking for those little stories (for lack of attention) that have washed away like a message in a bottle. Like:

Remember when they failed to translate the official message and it turned out that we apologized to the Chinese for knocking our spy plane out of the sky?

Anyone?

1. well, I am sorta kinda doing that
but probably not in the format you're looking for. this section is about the first 'inaugural' (names changed to further ridicule the guilty)

From....

THE CHRONICLES OF BOSH:
A Fictitious History of the Occupancy of Prince George, Part the First.

the day it rained on Mister Bosh's parade

Scrambled eggs, raw, were on the breakfast menu.
And eggs, raw, and the raw rain streaked the pretty car.

Some stood their ground. Their ground! Shivering.
Furious and bone-chilled,
Ready, in spite of the raw wind, their raw eggs ready.

The election was a deception
And we see right through you.

Smack smack smack. The impact? Unreported.
The raw rage of patriots supremely raped.

The election was a deception
And we see right through you.

Mister Bosh scurries away, in his raw rage, keeping his coat
Out of harm's way. Missus Bosh takes his trembling hand:

Ta-ta and cranberries! Best to be out of it
And not risk catching a cold shoulder.

Seen through the window, as they accelerate,
It appears that the raw, dripping yolk is on his face.
But soon, unreported, the mess is washed away.

The raw deal? Mister Bosh is assured: Nothing will stick.

2. Presented factually and in a straightforward manner,

it would be a great thing to pass around. Something the RR's couldn't factually refute.

full of articles I've collected over the past several years. I don't know why I needed paper copies, I guess I was afraid the internet would go away.

5. How do we debate this?
"Complete abject failure and not seeming to care about his first responsibility-defending America against attack"

There have been no more attacks on our soil since 9/11?

8. I think documenting the truth about his legacy is
a far better strategy than putting effort into contesting the past election. This will become an important tool in the future.

Check out my recent post titled "I believe the first priority is the first Ammendment" or something like that.

9. I think focusing on the election fraud is the number one priority
Many have been documenting the damage done by the * regime since well before the election. We just keep adding to the list.

13. I agree.
The entire legacy of the new reich needs to be documented, especially the fraudulent ways in which it came to power.

On the other hand, documentation may be the only reward of the effort. In practical terms, I see no way of successfully removing the odious weasel from office even if all the documented cases are proven true.

11. I suggest this is a project for Demopedia
And the White House website, probably, would be a very helpful resource in putting this together.
