That dingdong in office told us simply to 'buy American' as a means to
Solve the trade deficit.

Easily said.

Now let's wake up from our fantasy-induced coma and look at a little something called REALITY...

Jobs are gone and are continuing to go. This deprives Americans of buying power. For anything. PERIOD.

You can whip the Chinese until they bleed, but lower prices are worthless if people can't buy them.

Will dingdong tell his corporate overlords to move their IT and manufacturing shops back to the USA, in a shock reversal of a trend born by Nixon's trip to China and possibly save our economy from extinction?

And will dingdong kindly tell us where to buy goods that are MADE BY AMERICANS, IN AMERICA? Most of the populace is so dim, they're not going to look or care. They prefer low prices. You know, part of REAGANOMICS - the very economic system you get sexually excited over every night.

Or will dingdong be his usual self, in which case he will prove once and for all what a two-faced twerp he truly is?

Okay, I could be more professional in my approach. Not today, thank you. Now I'm going to dope up on my lexapro and valium. :D

1. And what if we did only 'buy American'?
EVERY computer hardware component is made outside the US, for example.

Most computer software has some non-American aspect to it.

Watch the SImpsons, et al? All made in Korea. The DVDs made in Mexico.

All we can do is buy food, it seems.

5. And medical care...
> All we can do is buy food, it seems.

That's why I tell everyone in my family that's young to go into either the food or medical industries. You know Bushie can't take all of those jobs away from us. Soon, we'll be a country of only farmers, grocery stores, a few clinics, and nursing homes.

6. Our economy used to be agricultural, but...
Farming is a NO-NO because the giant corporate entities have already cornered and exterminated that market. And the current handful of corporate agriculturalists will soon buy out the others, as is typical in every other industry.

Ditto for clinics. Which is ironic as that is tantamount to socialism, except it'll cost much, much more and available to only the few.

So maybe in 20 years we'll be socialist afterall. Just not in the humane form.

2. Problem is.................
there's precious little made in America anymore. This just shows how out of touch this dumb-ass is. Most "good Americans" will go to Wal-Mart to save 50 cents rather than "buy American". This disgusting mental midget hasn't a clue about how things really are in this country. Of course he's the most hated man in the world so he can't go out among the people to find out the truth. He doesn't much care for the truth either. He'd rather live in his fantasy world of yes-men and ass kissers, insulating himself from the truth as much as possible.

10. my little company is gone
I owned a manufacturing company for almost 20 years. We
employed about 30 workers in our small town of less than
10,000. We exported to several different countries and did
our part to balance the trade deficit. Today, all our
employees are gone, we sell to no foreign countries and we are
importing our once U.S. made products from you know where. I
hope that we will be able to change our lives completely this
coming year and will no longer be involved in this type of
commerce.

Why do you think I got rid of the Dodge and bought a Toyota?

A. I agree with you. American cars are mostly crap.

17. Why is it low quality? And, by the way,
my Toyota was made in America and it didn't seem to be any better than any of my other cars; all of which were American except my first car (the 1981 Honda Prelude)

12. My Toyota was made in Kentucky.
My previous car, a Dodge, was made in Mexico.

This "Buy American" crap is so pointless.

18. Somebody should take Shrub
to Wallyworld. Let him go shopping where real people have to shop. Bet he's never been to one. It would be an eyeopener for him if he really believes what he says.

PS: I seem to remember years ago when WM were starting to get around that they used to have signs up touting American made products. Did I just dream this?
