Why do we respect the Israeli intelligence? They were instrumental in
getting Bush to invade Iraq. Now they are no doubt worried about the Shia taking over power in Iraq and being effectively part of Iran. They jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Sadly we're in the fire too. Is it time to go home yet?

1. I doubt the Israeli's had any effect on bush's decision
Bush has wanted Iraq since day 1. Bush has no great love for Israel & neither did his father. But Sharon cleverly backed bush into a corner: "You want your war on terror"? Well, so do I." For bush to tell sharon to stop would have looked hypocritical. Bush has no interest in peace in the ME, his administration has made no efforts toward it.

3. to surmise that israel had no influence in the decision to go to
war with iraq imo is naive. one only has to take a look at the players who brought this war about to see this analysis is wrong.

2. I wouldn't go as far as saying they were instrumental
Bush would have gone with or without the Israelis but they certainly fueled, aided and knowingly abetted to suit their own right-wing aims. Nothing like helping Bush fabricate intelligence to take to the UN. Sharon and Bush are both pigs and so are the people blindly supporting them. Fascists all over the world united for that invasion. Let's hope non-fascists all over the world can stop them.

4. They told Bush what he wanted to hear.
Instrumental is too strong a word. They, like Blair, were simply enablers to a predetermined path.
