The 4 part neocon agenda for liberals
My first post in GD so please go easy if this has been rehashed so many times.

Ive spent the last year trying to simplify for my own mind how the neothugs plan to deal with liberals and progressives.

Whenever Ive had "discussions" with bushites Ive noticed these four prevailing attitudes to be constant and consistent.

1. convert- within a religious/cult context
2. kick out- move away if you hate america so much
3. incarcerate- you support the enemy by being antibush, go to jail!
4. neutralize- from blackmail, physical threats, and yes killing.

The few wing-nuts that Ive actually pointed this out too, tried to argue but still found themselves basically arguing from these perspectives.

granted I would bait and ambush them into it, but that was to cut away the bluster and pork fat of their fictitious reasonings.

My other favorite argument is pointing out that nearly all of our own homegrown terrorist groups (kkk, aryan nation, army of god) were, you can solidly bet, nearly 100% behind the shrub. This a good argument when dealing with so called moderates and independents.

Just my two cents, thanks for letting me get it off my chest.

1. By mistake I went out with a neocon, bad judgement but .....

educational. He use to tell me how the neocons wanted to line us all up against a wall and shoot us in the head to eliminate us for all time. It was really scary to me because he really met it and of course I dumped him after that becaue little did he know I was one of those folks he was speaking of, they really do hate us that bad. Be afraid of them but are all nutballs on the extreme right.

because of these jerkwads. My famiy doesnt really notice anything wrong with our country and its leadership until I start the littany on bushcos long list of devastation and lies and bigotry.

I have been silenced by my love for them and avoiding their calls, but that wont last much longer...

3. They are trying to mesh the 2 images of terrorist & liberal/democrat.
So that anyone who doesn't agree with America (aka 'THEM') is a terrorist and doesn't deserve the rights of a US citizen.

4. true that placebo!
funny seeing you here is weird I usually only catch you in the lounge!?:hi:

but yeah, you know Ive just had it... I want them to just come out and say what they really want to do with us. Because it sure as shit has nothing to do with freedom and civil rights, except for the taking away of them.

C'mon neocons just say what you are, racist, zealots bent on destroying anyone who gets in your way on the path to grand imperialism. Just admit youre alla bunch of hypocritical ass holes that seek the death of liberalism... ya wusses!

5. A Socratic mind grenade
This is a real question I have, which at the same time could make them see the inherent contradiction between their rhetoric and reality:

What ideas can be excluded from democratic (small d) debate? In what sense are we free if we can dissent and ask questions?

If an idea is irretrievably wrong (for conservatives, anything left of Ann Coulter), won't allowing it in the debate just prove how wrong it is? What are you afraid of?

A related question is if knowledge is power, what is someone doing who is trying to keep secrets? Unfortunately, I know the answer to that one--cut off your balls, metaphorically for now and probably literally in the future.

9. Who would you exclude?
I think Chris Matthews got close to this with Ann Coulter once. If liberals are traitors who should be ignored, who should be allowed to have a voice in public debate?

Should we exclude communists is the most obvious starting point or parties that openly call for abolishing democracy.

The other side of this though is that if their ideas are so wrong, isn't it likely that they won't get very far?

Why were we so afraid of political (not military) communism if it was so fatally flawed? If that's the case, then even applying it at a local level here would have had disastrous results and it would have died a natural death instead of being a boogie man.

My point is the right is screaming about spreading democracy while the are practicing it as little as possible here.

10. They don't believe in free expression.
They believe that democracy is something that can only be practiced by good people. Liberals are not good people, they are evil. Our system doesnt work, not because the system is flawed, but because the liberals are holding the system down.

That is what they believe. So your question is irrelevent to them. Liberals are liars and manipulators. Elites who use thier intellecualism and power to push thier amoral agenda on the majority of the nation that is good.

11. that about sums it up for me. Liberals would be more than willing
to let anyone have a voice... as long as that voice doesnt insist on clamping down and shutting out all other voices.

I mean you dont even have to stand in opposition, just have a slightly differing opinion and they still want to make you a grease spot.

6. Well, what will it take for them to achieve #1?
What is the price each of us will buy into?

We're between phases #1 and #2 right now. We're not at #3 yet, but I'd see #4 happen before #3. Not sure why...

7. interestingly enough I wasnt thinking about it in process like that.
I was only looking at it with perspective on all their arguments boil down to these four things when you pull off the diversionary tactics and patriotic icing.

I find that your mode of thought on this is generally true however when applied en masse.

thank you!
