Jerk-Faced Assholes
It's so frustrating when the folks in fly-over country do not recognize that the sick, violent disgusting murders that make the headlines are nearly all in the so-called heartland, or Texas, or Florida. Yeah, LA had Scott Peterson, but how could that compare with Andrea Yates? The Red States produce sick and twisted cretins at a rate far exceeding the Blue, particularly per capita.....

It reminds me of an argument I had once with my Sister-In-Law. I had mentioned that drug use was more rampant in the 'Burbs than in the Inner City and she actually started weeping and accusing me of trying to ruin her and her family's life.......All this because my wife was appearing in a play at DC's Studio Theatre, and my Sister-In-Law, or Jabba the Hut as she is also known, said she would never go to such a dangerous place.

Anyway, here's a clip and the link to the story...

MELVERN, Kan. - A woman charged with killing an expectant mother and cutting the baby from her womb was showing the child off to people at a cafe and to her pastor hours before she was arrested, residents said Saturday.

<snip>
Many customers were surprised to hear the infant was only a day old, Sage said. She knew an Amber Alert had been issued for a baby missing from Missouri but did not realize the infant the Montgomerys carried was connected until hearing from a reporter on Friday.

"You read about this stuff," she said. "It blows you away when it's here. This stuff is supposed to be in New York City or Los Angeles."

2. Nice, God fearing, girl she is.
Showing the baby off to her pastor. Anyone wanna take a guess who she voted for?(if she voted)

5. A similar horror story happened in 1995
in the Chicago area.

Here's what Newt Gingrich had to say on the horrific murder of Debra Evans, whose two kids were killed while her unborn baby was ripped out of her womb. His words caused the family distress and they told him to shut his face:

"Let's talk about what the welfare state has created. Let's talk about the moral decay of the world the left is defending. It happened in America because for two generations, we haven't had the guts to talk about right and wrong. We end up with the final culmination of a drug-addicted underclass with no sense of humanity, no sense of civilization, and no sense of the rules of life in which human beings respect each other."

The Republicans have been Jerk-Faced Assholes for a very looooong time.

:wtf:

I've lived 10 minutes outside of New York my entire life, there are murders, but the really horrendous stuff always happens in the burbs

9. I have lived in NYC virtually ALL my life....no MASS murders here.
No kids left in cars and driven into rivers, etc.
When there are tragedies here, no one says "God told me to do it".
The causes are usually obvious; poverty, hunger, emotional stress and other things that could have been dealt with if help had been available.
It is all so sad.

8. Sick people everywhere
Tim Mcveigh came from a blue state, Son of Sam blue state, the guy that torched a night club and killed 80+ in NYC a blue state.

11. Also Charles Stuart and the Zodiac Killer
from blue states as well. I'm sure there are more, but those pop up to the top of my head. Psychos everywhere indeed.

But I think the midwest has always had its share, from Ed Gein through Dahmer to last week's events. And people in the Midwest always express the same "I can't believe it happened here" shock.

12. There's a simple reason why
People look at violence as violence. They don't make a distinction for mass-murder. So when a Dahmer comes along and kills several people, they don't expect it in the Midwest, because every 15 minutes in NYC the same number of people are killed-just by different people.

13. I think every state has horrific crimes happen
that we never hear about because it just doesn't catch the media's attention and if it does then one terror alert can knock it off the front page. Look what just happened to that poor woman in Missouri this week.

14. Modesto is in the San Joaquin Valley,
closer to SF than LA, but still very rural, conservative, and freeperish. Scott Peterson would have still been lowlife trash no matter where he came from.
