1. We did we condition ourselves to ever buy at all? |

For once, the Bible makes more consistent and coherent sense than corporate america.

2. Most of these idiots are having kids too... |
|
I guess they think all the kids will get raptured up too, that's why they don't have to preserve any natural resources.
I think when things finally boil down we'll see the fall of civilization will not come because a man married a box turtle and Pee-Wee Herman started teaching sex-ed. I think we are more likely to come to a point where the righteous Christians and industrialists among us have had enough time to exploit our resources to untenable levels. Then we will see the decline in the economy (the Big decline) during which time the Christians who believe in the Rapture and have set environmental policy like a fuse will reach toward the sky and wait for Jesus to 'take them up into the sky'... and then wait some more, and wait, and wait. They'll wait a while, then pray a bunch... then a whole lot of them will lash out in a number of ways rather than consciously realize what they have done to their children and their children's children. All the while, the real author of the Book that instigated this tragedy will be laughing maniacally. After all, he knew that Humans love easy answers in leiu of taking actual resposibility.
Then, the not-so-wacky Christians, along with everyone else who was too caught up in owning more stuff than their neighbors or busy trying to purge the world of anyone without their pristine values will say, "Why did no one Tell us? Why didn't our government DO anything?" When the fact is they WERE told by the Environmentalists, the Libertarians, the Economists, the Scientists, the Evolutionists. Everyone who urges ANY kind of restraint is laughed at by a plurality of Americans - enough to keep things going along just as they are. No one will do anything until the symptoms are grave and the patient is dying. Won't that be a hoot when it turns out that gay marriage didn't destroy our culture.
There are many good things about Americans, but foresight is not a quality Americans possess.

8. Ha ha ha.... Good one! |
|
We both know what the Robertsons and Falwells will have to say to that.
"God has told me these things will come to pass." and "Why do you hate God my son?"
Although I can wait for the coming economic catastophe and subsequent 'Apocalypse', I would pay good money to watch the psychological collapse of some of these fools.
Knowing them as I do, however, I'm sure they'll just rework their interpretation of these events to fit their 'faith'.

11. Yes - Well Said - This Online Video About Our "Growth Culture" |
|
Overpopulation and Peak Oil says it all. Al Bartlett Colloquium http://edison.ncssm.edu/programs/colloquia/bartlett.ramSadly it is probably over the head of most Fundies. They talk about being saved but they cannot save themselves from their excesses.

Georgie doesn't plan on paying the debts he's charged on the American express card.

7. It's Jamew Watt (Reagan EPA Chief) Economics. |
|
A rapturist (maybe one of the originals), he said why protect the environment if the world is coming to an end in 20 years of so. The Reagan people saw him as a tool and a joke. Now Watt's view is shared by El Jeffe.

9. I knew of someone who was doing *exactly* that |
|
He came to our pastor wondering how soon the rapture was coming because he had more than $20,000 in credit card debt.

6. those bornaginner preachers |
|
on cable are always announcing the "end times", and then try to sell books, tapes, and videos for a hefty price. If they really believed that crap, why not give the stuff away and earn brownie points by saving as many heathens as possible? They always want the cash, lots of it, cuz they know it's a load of crap, and have more faith the dollar than "faith" in their spewed poison.

from their followers all the time, continually moving the day the world is supposed to end forward. Fascinating history, if you want to learn about cults.

12. Not all places are like that... |
|
Some of them want money so they can continue the work they are doing.
To assume avery christian organization is just greedy for money is Ludricris.
After all, " you can't take it with you."
