Will bush Bring Us A New War In 2005?
It seems to be the only thing he knows. (Aside from cutting taxes). I think he's militarily obsessed, and he's surrounded by people who agree. I used to tell myself that bogged down as we are in Iraq, he couldn't possibly entertain the idea of further military action. Now I just wonder where he'll go first. I'd put my money on Syria, but Iran's always a possibility.

1. With China's new oil contracts with Iran
bush would be fool to invade, but being a fool is the least of his problems.

2. Him and what army?
We barely have enough military to occupy Iraq -- where would he find another for another war?

No question it is what he would like.

4. Well, there's always the Israeli army.
Sharon could invade from the south & reclaim the Golan Heights while we slam 'em from the north. Are you listening Rummy?

5. Never misunderestimate the bastard
Let's see: He could order the bombing of facilities in Syria or Iran. He could radically reduce the number of troops in other places around the world, and use them in the mideast. I'm sure there are other scenarios.

3. Absolutely!
And we will be ducking bombs and bullets before the end of the year. By the way a local Urologist told me a few weeks ago that bush's obsession with war could be caused by the fact that he has a very small penis. Only pickles knows for sure!!:nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

7. He (and his PNAC buddies) want another war...
but they fucked up this one so bad he can't do it.

Iraq, Syria, Iran. The three targets of PNAC, the three great threats to Isreal (in thier minds). The fact that they also have large oil reserves is icing.

THAT is why they invaded Iraq 'on the cheap' with so few men... they require it to be easy so they can 'get on to the next country' on the list... Strategic Planning by Wishful Thinking.

Historical Parrellal:
In 1941, the U.S. cut Japan off from the oil they needed to continue thier conquest of China. Japan decided to go to sieze the oil fields in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), even though this would mean going to war with the U.S. and Britain. They did this even though...

a. The oil fields didn't produce as much oil as they needed

b. They didn't have enough tankers to ship as much oil as was produced

c. They didn't have the refinery capability for the amount of oil they could ship.

So, the 3rd largest navy in the world directly challenged the 1st and 2nd largest navy for control of a supply of oil that was inadequate to accomplish thier objectives IN CHINA, never mind the added burden of taking on the U.S. and Britain.

30. No plans for war in N. Korea for PNAC.
No oil, no threat to Isreal there. There will be no war against N. Korea unless N. Korea actually does something... unlike Iraq, Iran and Syria.

8. Let's see 2001, 2003
Yep, looks like we're due for another one in '05. Perpetual war is hard work. The next one will probably begin with a U.S. backed Israeli airstrike on Iran's nuclear sites followed by a Shia uprising in both Iran and Iraq.

9. And It Will Be Nuclear!
Iran v Israel
Pakistan v India
North Korea v Japan
China v Taiwan

Something big is going to happen... it might not be because we actually PUSH the button or MAKE the declaration of war, but it will be the result of our policies or our inaction. And we will be IMPOTENT to do anything about it.

But hey... this is all playing into part of Bush's Armageddon beliefs. Why would he even WANT to do anything that would help to avert or prevent global catastrophe? He can stand idly by and just and do NOTHING. Freaking fundies!

Turned out he was talking about his "New Clear Skies" plan. (My surprise to hear they had a "Nuclear Skies" initiative was matched only by my shock that he'd learned to pronounce "nuclear." But alas.)

13. The opinion of many in the Caribbean region -- Cuba a target
is that bush is planning to attack Cuba.

I was waiting for a flight and relaxing in an unused gate seating area. There were Cubans also eating breakfast in this quiet part of the Miami airport. They were on their way to visit relatives in Cuba -- and they expressed the fear that bush would attack Cuba -- they were worried about their family in Cuba.

Later -- in another airport -- Caribbean region -- I also heard talk of bush planning an attack on Cuba.

Most people here feel that bush is getting bored with Iraq and will find another target to attack.

These are only anecdotal stories -- but each time the subject was introduced by others and I was simply a by-stander listening in on conversations.

People in this region are very upset about the actions of the bush gang in Haiti -- removal of a democratically elected President and installation of a dictator -- and the murder of Haitians by US troops. Also the bush gang wasn't especially generous to Hurricane victims. They are proud that CariCom is resisting the US bullies.

I've traveled overseas for years and never have I heard so much hatred, dislike, distrust for the guy occupying the white house.

Anyway the opinion seems to be that bush needs to find an easy target that is nearly unarmed.

My thoughts -- bushie might be planning to use his supply of mini-Nukes somewhere.

19. I agree, Cuba would be an interesting target for the King George...
But what about the King even turning on his own countrypeople?

There is no doubt in my mind that given the chance, the criminal would try to take over the country.

They're obsession is with remaking the mideast and oil. I don't see bushco doing anything about Cuba unless Castro dies. Then they'll intervene by proxy.

14. Yes, Occupation Of Iran's Oil Fields, Conveniently Located Along Iraq's
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 01:28 PM by loindelrio
Border. Here's the way it will play out.

Step 1) Israel strikes Iran's 'nu-cue-lar' infrastructure.

Step 2) Iran lash's out at US forces in gulf region.

Step 3) The Emperor Chimp goes in front of Congress, says that we are victims of an unprovoked attack, like Pearl Harbor, calls for a draft to raise sufficient military strength to deal with the 'terraist' threat from Iran.

Step 4) Occupy SE corner of Iran, flatlands (tank country) where oil is. Brutally suppress any remaining opposition in Iraq to our liberation of them from the oppressive burden of oil wealth.

Step 5) Give massive contracts to Halliburton and other buddies to sell off the Iranian oil as 'reparations' for their dastardly attack.

Step 6a) The Oligarchs get rich.

Step 6b) The rest of us go broke or die trying to push through the Zagros mountains and occupy Iran. Of course, this part of the substep is not that important ('Bring em On').

War for profit and control of the masses, that is the face of the new GOP.

Ever wonder what Israel needs long range F-15's and 5000 (just delivered) bunker buster bombs for? Think I've gotten too cynical?

"No matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up."

15. I think you're Syriasly onto something...
Once the "elections" have passed, he can pronounce great change and proceed to bellyache about the other evil Ba'athists next door. The boys from the PNAC want to pop Damascus so much it hurts, and we'll have the extra forces right there in the form of the IDF. Some crappy pretext will be blown out of proportion, and we'll have to act in defense of the Iraqi people about whom we care so much...

We did it to start the Mexican-American War, and Hitler did it to gin up some pretext against Poland, so it's a fine old tradition.

History will almost definitely show that we were moving to nail Syria in April of '03, but Iraq was coming apart at the seams and we just didn't have the troops to do it. REAL Nazis use concentrated and overwhelming force; ya don't pull no Blitzkrieg on the cheap. Our little prep-school Hitler and his merry band of looters really believe in their inherent superiority, and that'll hurt 'em in the long run.

18. Bush is a Coward
As evidenced by his lack of service when he was in the
military.

He talks a lot but he won't go after North Korea, or anyone
who has the potential for kicking our ass.

Yes I believe there are countries out there who could kick our
ass. China with the potential for at least a 100,000,000 man
army is one.

North Korea which is rapidly becoming Nuclear weponized is
another.

He could pick on Iran or Syria, but that would draw the wrath
of China and the other Middle Eastern Countries.

I am very afraid that the rest of the world is gonna rise up
against us pretty soon. They are just waiting for the W that
breaks the Camel's back.

All those high-tech toys are pretty useless against a whole people who want their country back.
