1. I would say that
widespread "extra-legal" (by a historical definition) arrests are a good indicator of a totalitarian state. Of course, what is "legal" changes over time... and apparently it just did.

That this legislation passed after the "election" is a good indicator of just how bad it is.

2. Just downloaded PGP
(Pretty Good Privacy) and I'm gonna use it.

Freeware program that encodes email with fairly advanced encryption. Recommend it highly to anyone and everyone who doesn't want the government reading their email (and they are).
