bush* about rummy: "He's doing a fine job" Where's the Outrage?
from today's faux news conference...

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=542&ncid=716&e=3&u=/ap/20041220/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/rumsfeld

<snip>
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) defended embattled Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld on Monday, saying the Pentagon (news - web sites) chief was doing "a very fine job."

"I know Secretary Rumsfeld's heart ... He's a good, decent man. He's a caring fellow," Bush told a news conference in response to questions about Rumsfeld's since-abandoned use of a mechanical device to sign letters of condolence to military families.

Congressional criticism of Rumsfeld has mounted over the escalating violence and other problems in Iraq (news - web sites), with a growing number of lawmakers issuing statements of no-confidence in the Pentagon chief.

Asked about the criticism, Bush said, "He's doing a very fine job."

... Now I could not bring myself to watch the little puke but was there a folow up question? Do the faux newspeople on TV analize this puke of a non-answer? I believe I already know... :puke:

2. Uh oh
Didn't the chimp say yesterday that Rummy's job was superb or spectacular or some other adjective? "Very fine job" is down a few notches; non glowing terms.

3. I hope he keeps Rummy
because even in solid red redneckville two strong GOP assholes I happen to know said to me "I can't believe he's standing behind Rumsfield. What is the matter with Bush?" Let him keep him around. Just that much more rope around the GOP's neck.........

6. He also stood behind Kerik
Said something like "I know he would have been a good man for the job." Cited the only reason for stepping down is Bernie not wanting to do it.

More of the same.
