I determined yesterday that I will keep my John Kerry bumpersticker on my |
|
truck until it is time to replace it with a 2008 sticker. It will show the other drivers that I am in the minority, because I am not an idiot, and it will easily allow the authorities to identify me as a security risk when the repugs pass further anti terrorist legislation.

I'm not ashamed of my choice for POTUS in 2004. I have no need to be, and I intend to keep it.

Before the election I thought that if we lost I'd have to get rid of all the paraphenalia because it would be too depressing. But, surprisingly, whenever I see a bumpersticker, sign, etc...it makes me smile. I still have a beautiful picture of Kerry and Edwards at a rally as my computer wallpaper. I smile whenever I turn it on. I've kept my sign in my window hoping that it will make others smile. We may have "lost" but the spirit goes on strong!

|
my two week old "Draft Young Republicans".
A friend of mine said I'd probably get some grief over it, but I haven't as of yet. In fact the day after I put DYR on the car, one guy in traffic asked me where I got it. I told him check out Betty Bowers website.

19. The parking lot of REI is where the highest concentration of Kerry |
|
bumper stickers are, according to spouse.
I removed mine from the rear window - was held by two straps of scotch tape - that evening when I came home, before the polls even closed. Did the same with the yard sign. Preferred to do this on my own, not while being depressed.
At least for a few weeks, I would park next to my boss's car with his W on his rear window, and both are sedans so that stickers were side by side for anyone to see.

22. Still wearing my Kerry/Edwards colors proudly... |
|
...in fact, after a recent snowstorm, when I inadvertently forgot about the K/E bumpersticker on my back window and scraped the ice scraper over it, nicking part of the edges off, I asked around and got two fresh ones from a friend. Made sure I am well-stocked for the next four years!
By the way, speaking of bumper stickers, I phone banked for Kerry from August through 7 p.m. Nov. 2. The last weekend at our local Kerry HQ, a volunteer passed out bumper stickers that said "Mission Accomplished" and had a photo of Chimpy in his flight suit, with a red circle with a slash through it superimposed over the photo. I was cleaning after the election and found the stickers. Remembering that a lot can happen during a second term (ask Bill Clinton), I smiled and filed them away for safekeeping.....

|
They never fail to cheer me up a notch.
I blow raspberries at the Bush/Cheney ones.
Just before the election, I saw a Gore/Leiberman. It looked new. I had to go and look at it.
I wonder if there are still bumper stickers laying around somewhere so I could replenish too. Dem party maybe?

Some A hole Repug , I assume, tried to yank it off at a mall parking lot, they got the Edwards name back to the Ed and the thing must have broken, it was a cold day...I'm leaving it till we win... no matter how long it takes. The Clinton Gore sticker is so faded it's hard to read and the Gore Lieberman one is still readable.
I can't wait to add my DU sticker if they ever send it!!!! hint hint! I donated money to the DU months ago and no Bumper sticker...they said they are behind but that was about 3 weeks ago. Anyone else have problems getting DU stickers? I just want to display a DU sticker proudly!

I was going to remove it sometime after the inauguration but last week some frothing moron leaned out of an SUV to yell "John Kerry sucks dick! Fuck you bitch!" I figure anything that pisses off * suporters enough to show thier true colors in public (screaming obscenities at a family with a kid in the car doesn't make you look good) helps the cause.
As an aside, the frothing Bushbot was a young guy and looked middle eastern, probably Persian. I figure either he's the dumbest man on Earth, he's acting like a Young Republican to avoid a visit to Guantanamo Bay, or he lives in Placer County and thinks screaming at Democrats and frightening thier children is acceptable social behavior. Probably the last one.
Besides, the next time some moron leans out of his DeathStar to yell at me, I'm secretly hoping he'll fall out on his fat head.

would you elect to hang in there longer than the person you're advertising?
BTW, anybody notice that right AFTER the election lots of "W" bumbler-stickers started showing up? I am noticing now more "progressive" stickers but it's a slow advance. Interesting.
