A typical example of republican hypocracy, |
|
As you know, Lynn Cheney is lesbian. The problem is, Dick Cheney and Shrub want to ban most, if not all gay rights. Why does he want to ban rights from his own daughter? You'd think that a family with a lesbian daughter would be for gay rights, right? It's just baffiling!!!!!! :wtf:   :dunce: :dunce:

8. That book had nothing to do with this thread, |
|
I've never even heard of that book. It's just ironic that a family with a lesbian daughter wants to ban gay rights.

how, exactly is this hypocrisy??? As long as he doesn't want to make an exception for his daughter, I can't see it that way. Wrong and wrong-headed you can make a case for, but hypocrisy?? No. Dick Cheney is in no way responsible for any decisions his daughter makes.
So exactly how does it come off as hypocrisy?

lynn cheney and the murdering goof (aka dick) are hypocrites because they want to restrict rights for a minority (gays maybe constitute 10 percent of populace...probably less) and their creep kid is part of that minority...you maybe think that the thefts committed, the treason and double dealings etc of ma and pa goofy have created a wealth pool deep enough for the kidgoofy to avoid the excesses of what the parents have wrought...but isn't that the very idea of hypocrisy? If you say they don't care about their creepy kid, then they escape being called hypocrites, but being heartless is hardly an improvement (both cheneys are provably heartless; but i'm applying theirs directly to the daughter, and the fact she's healthy, self aware and confident enough to openly admit she's homo says her family are not heartless towards her....so this leaves hypocrisy, doesn't it?)

13. As long as they apply the |
|
same rules to her as to all other gays, no I do not think they are hypocrites. About this, anyway. Just because they disapprove of what she does (if they do), or however it is they feel about gays, that does not mean they are hypocrites because they love their daughter.
But I guess I'm ignorant here. What exactly, other than oppose gay marriage, have the Cheneys done against gays? What are the 'excesses' that you mentioned. You can be warm toward your children without approving of either their behavior, politics, ideas, boy/girl friend, or orientation. Did Scott Peterson's mother stop loving him just because he murdered Laci?? Does that mean she has to approve of murder??

But not hypocritical. Don't get me wrong, cheney's a hypocrite of the highest order. This just isn't an example of that hypocrisy.
Now, if cheney pushed for a reduction of gay rights and then asked for an exemption of his daughter, that would certainly fit in with the rest of his hypocritical behaviour

"Dick Cheney is in no way responsible for any decisions his daughter makes."
Are you speaking of her actions, or her homosexuality? Clarification is needed....

No one can be held responsible for someone else's actions. And we all know that gays are born, not made, don't we??
