Im thinking about NOT voting anymore. |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 09:29 PM by nickshepDEM
Well not really but Im getting pissed off thinking about all of the possible ways that the vote could be stolen using these electronic voting machine.
I just have a couple of questions and maybe you guys can help me out.
Do you really think it is possible to program or install a program on these voting machines to add or change votes?
Do you think congress will honestly address this issue before 2006? I mean, Im to the point were I dont feel as if my vote is even being counted or will ever be counted on these damn machines.
Do you think we will have a paper trail and certification of our votes by 2006?
Why isnt the media liberal or conservative asking why the voting machines software are not open source and not regulated by the government? Why has the government aloud these machines to even bee used? Why are they not regulated?
Am I over-reacting about NOT voting anymore? I mean whats the point if someone at the board of elections cannot prove to me my vote was counted. Because hey, I live in Maryland and all we use is electronic voting machines.

It is getting harder for me to tell people how their votes will count.
All I can say is that you are guaranteed not to have your vote counted if you don't vote. If you do vote, maybe there is a chance. That's the best I can do.
Possible to program those machines? Why not? We may be doomed, but vote anyway.

Got absentee ballots and photocopied them before sending them in then there would be a paper trail.

5. the paper trails are nothing more than a marketing ploy to get you to feel |

secure. It's a role of paper that has to be unrolled in order to even try to verify and they won't be unrolling it to make sure they give us an honest election, just if we challenge them. So the cross referencing process is shaky at best following an election.
I won't be voting in Nevada again. I really want to move, but it looks like it would have to be to another nation.

9. Perhaps this whole 'stolen election' thing is just a ruse by Rove to |

trick liberals into think that present and future election are unwinable, causing them not to participate in the electoral process.

10. Nah, the trick's in the stealing. |
|
If they've got that, they don't give a damn what we think.
So we have to work on exposing and stopping the stealing.

12. I think you should still register to vote and vote. |
|
Im just complaining. Its not fair that our government is allowing this to happen. The machines should be regulated by the government. Numerous tests by the government should be done on these machines before each and every election to ensure they are casting the vote for the correct candidate. PERIOD.

I'm seriously considering not voting anymore.
I'm beginning to wonder: what is the point? It's obvious that Republicans have perfected the art of stealing elections, and Democrats don't seem to know the meaning of "opposition party," and they won't stand up and demand all the votes be counted.
Moreover, we have lost any sense of checks and balances in this country. The right wingers run every single branch of government.
So, what are we fighting for now?

But, we can not do that untill we insure that every American has his or her vote counted. Why did we ever change to these electronic voting machines if the ways of voting before this were not as controversial.
