Yesterday, a news item caught my eye.Australia has now become the
preferred destination for technology entrepreneurs from India and China who are tired of the hassles they have to put up with in the U.S. about Homeland Security, Airport Screenings and the like. There was a time when there would be no question which country was the magnet for these creative and enterprising people. Bush has managed to kill that attraction in a matter of three years.

These immigrants usually bring fresh dynamism and a new outlook to our society which over a century has profited immensely from these traits.Now we have fundies fighting over the value of stem cell research and evolution and intelligent design, a triad of ignorance that would be laughed off the stage wherever scientists gather.At present that place seems to be Australia.
