I heard Blair snuck into Iraq today (Graphic content)
He is such a chicken shit. Oh sure, the Iraqi people are so much better off. He can't even leave his high security bubble to see what a mess him and his masters have made of the place.

The country is in a shamble and he pretends not to even notice.

Look at his face? He is terrified.

Hey Tony you want to see what really bravery looks like.

So come on Tony, I dare you, come on get out of your armored plated car and take a walk around? Bring a translator and talk to some of the Iraq people whose country you've destroyed. Then tell us how you really feel about the horror you have wrought on these poor helpless people.

I do hope there is a special place in hell for men like Tony Blair and George Bush. May their wretched souls burn forever.

32. Nothing at all, it's just a handle.
A nickname I got in college that honestly had nothing to do with Leon Trotsky, other than the fact that his name was known.

Are you trying to imply that someone's handle should be argued rather than the facts they bring up?

48. Just in case he looks in again here are the Trotsky-facts:
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 11:55 AM by neweurope
(we should never pass an opportunity to educate them ;) )

Even when Trotsky was still Commissar of War Stalin is beginning to isolate Trotsky.
1924: After the death of Lenin Stalin starts a campaign in Prawda against Trotsky.
1925: Trotski resigns from the Comissariat of War and so is practically deprived of his power.
1926: Trotsky is excluded from the politburo; resistance of the Trotskist opposition.
1927: In November Trotsky is excluded from the Communist Party.
1928: Deportation to Sibiria with other Trotskists.
1929: Trotsky is exiled to Turkey.
1933/34 : After he has lost his Russian Nationality the Russian Secret Service begins to pursue Trotsky. He moves to France to a secret place which gets known after a year.
1937: After two years in Oslo Trotsky goes to Mexico where he is writing biographies of Lenin and Stalin.
1940 : Even though he has rebuilt his house into a fortress he only just escapes an attack of the Russian Secret Service.
21. August: Trotsky dies after having been attacked by a murderer who claimed to be a sympathizer with an icepick the day before.

We've giving Iraqis democracy, health care, electricity, water, you name it.

How many are we giving all that to when there are (how many, again?) Americans without any of that? Up to 350 million, depending on the issue.

30. Shock and Awe did not target civilians?
This story in the nytimes talks about the military's plan to send 3,000 bombs and missiles to "shock" Iraq into submitting. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F6071FFE3E5B0C768CDDAA0894DB404482 (It's from 2003 and now archived so you would have to buy the article to read the whole thing)

-snip

THREATS AND RESPONSES: ATTACK STRATEGY; TOP GENERAL SEES PLAN TO SHOCK IRAQ INTO SURRENDERING

ABSTRACT - Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen Richard B Myers says Pentagon war plan for Iraq entails shocking Iraqi leadership into submission quickly with attack markedly different from 43-day Persian Gulf war in 1991; declines to be specific but other military officials say plan calls for unleashing 3,000 precision guided bombs and missiles in first 48 hours of short air campaign, to be followed quickly by ground operations; gives stark warning that attack will result in Iraqi civilian casualties, despite military's best efforts to prevent them

-snip

Well, we sure did drop these bombs on Baghdad, a city the size of Atlanta.
Imagine even one bomb hitting the heart of a city the size of Atlanta.

General Meyers also said this at that time:

"But we can't forget that war is inherently violent," he said. "People are going to die. As hard as we try to limit civilian casualties, it will occur. We need to condition people that that is war. People get the idea this is going to be antiseptic. Well, it's not going to be."

So, apparently we target large cities (which are filled with civilians) so we can condition them that this is war? How can they possible believe that they can in any way limit civilian casualties by dropping 3000 bombs on Baghdad?

65. Its just surreal how detached so many americans are isn't it?
Like you said, "can you imagine even one bomb hitting Atlanta?" That's it exactly, we bomb cities like Fallujah, a city of 300,000 people, and people actually have the nerve to argue about it! It's so insane. Freepers twist it into that your "unpatriotic" and "misinformed." I get so sick of it. I mean does it really matter if we've dropped 200 bombs or 300 over the last six months? Americans would be whining about it non stop for years if even one bomb hit a US city.

31. It's good that you're here for a change and see what's really
going on in the world. Of course that will only be of advantage to you when you don't automatically go into rejection. See: The whole world sees these pictures. Day after day after day. There are war crimes being committed in Iraq. War crimes.

By the way: Your phrase "I guess these sensationalistic pictures are the price we have to pay for freedom" made me feel quite sick. If certain people didn't commit war crimes these pictures could not be taken. There is a whole people being bombed to hell and you feel that seeing the pictures of the carnage is "a price to pay"?!

Especially when you consider the great amount of thought and planning that went into this war!

If you were to open your eyes and read the posts here, you might have noticed that NOBODY says anything good about saddam. Your "president', however DID lie to the world and created this mess against a country that was NO threat to us.

If this is too much reality for you, run on back to rush, faux, ann and sean. You sure as hell won't be here very much longer!

29. Ok, you have a point. If we were fighting a war to win, you'd be right.
As others are saying, the attempt to militarily secure Fallujah requires maximum ordinance. You don't have to "target" civilians in order to kill hundreds of them when you use the big bombs.

The real problem is that we are not fighting an enemy army. The ordinary nicety about "not killing civilians" doesn't work against a non-uniformed insurgency. The fact that the insurgents are morally reprehensible doesn't change the fact that we knew this would be the result of starting up this war and started up this war anyway.

That it, we knew we'd be killing civilians by the truckload and that the world would hate us for it and blame us for unleashing and motivating the recruitment of yet more terrorist scum (and there are more religious extremists than true patriots fighting in the Iraqi resistance). That's why this war is a colossal mistake and why we are guilty in the killing of innocent civilians.

Tactically, we do not target civilians. Morally and strategically, that's exactly what we have done.

49. Hang about...WHY are insurgents "morally reprehensible"???
What on earth would YOU do if say CHINA invaded & occupied America???

What were the minutemen???

Our Founding Fathers???

All "insurgents", every one of them. And had they lost, they'd have been hung for the traitors they were. Thank God they won.

And if China, or any other nation, invaded & occupied America, I for one would be labelled a "bush loyalist" and fight the invaders. It's what PATRIOTS do. They fight to defend their country.

And that's what the insurgents -rebels- are doing right now in Iraq.

And even the US military has shown up bush's lie for the lie it is; the majority of rebels in Iraq are IRAQIS, fighting to defend their country, NOT "foreign invaders" or "terrorists". The latter two are, by law, us.

Not to be gratuitously iconoclastic, but I don't really believe that the Princess of Hearts would ever have been allowed to be in any genuine danger when she was doing her land-mine work.

There are thousands of men and women doing this sort of thing every day, who you'll never hear about on the news - and unlike Diana, none of them will feel the need to be remunerated for their compassion by spending millions - literally, millions - of pounds of taxpayer money on lunches, holidays, and shoes.

Diana wasn't trying to do anything other than to bring the attention of ignorant fools in Western countries to the problems they created when they littered other countries with land mines.

She was instrumental in getting balking governments to sign the land mine ban. Let's give credit where it's due...

bush* was too much of a coward to venture outside the US this year for his Rally the Troops photo op. You KNOW they would have LOVED to repeat the Rubber Turkey photo op in Iraq from last year, but after an entire year of Freedom On The March, Iraq has gotten too dangerous for our Fearful Leader.

Even Rummy was too scared to set foot in Iraq. He stayed in the relative safety of Kuwait.

They (bush* and friends) probably MADE poor Poodle go to Iraq.

bush*: too brain damaged and developmentally arrested for any self reflection, empathy, or sense of responsibility. He lived in a state of delusion and truly believes the press releases.

bush* would walk straight up to the returning Jesus and say, "Been holding down the fort for you. Been alot of HARD WORK, but shit Jesus, you and me gotta stick together. You don't have to thank me. I was glad I could help ya!"

Now that I think about it, Jesus' head might explode if HE has to talk to chimpy*.
