LA Times: "56 % in Survey Say Iraq War Was a Mistake"
Good going, people. Stoopid voters. Speaking of which, let's see if we can change the words in the following paragraph from this story without changing the essential meaning. Pretend it's October 2004 and when you get to the word "Iraq" read instead "the United States." Okay, go...

On the question of whether Iraq is prepared for elections next month -- a topic widely debated among national security experts -- 58 percent of respondents believed the violence-plagued country is not ready. Nonetheless, 60 percent want elections to go forward as scheduled -- even though 54 percent do not expect honest results with a "fair and accurate vote count." Fifty-four percent are not confident elections will produce a stable government that can rule effectively.

Ah, the more things change...

1. repeat the past
Cut to the chase, nothing will change, we'll install a stoogeocracy, we have the only army there, we guard the oils.

The elected puppets will get holed up in the 'green zone' and the world celebrates yet another Bush triumph.

Nobody will point out the glaring facts staring in everyone's faces.

4. Still less than the 60-65% who said DON'T GO IT ALONE
BEFORE the war.

Oh did I mention something the press dropped like a hot rock the night the glorious display of firepower started?
