The Reality Deadline
One can only tell his debtors "the check is in the mail" so many times and have it remain believable. At some time, the check must arrive. That is the reality now facing the Bush Administration.

Elections in Iraq have been called for the end of next month. The check is in the mail. If this turns deadly or fails completely, there will be a political price to pay.

Either the election will be a success or it will be a failure. No doubt, the propagandists in the White House will attempt to portray it as a "success" unless it is obviously disastrous to the world. Then, the debate must change course.

The same goes for the huge deficits and our shrinking economic status in the world. The check is in the mail. Something has to change. Mr Bush's economic policy is not going to get the desired results. It is impossible to spend like this Administration and then cut taxes and then expect to grow out of your mess. It ain't gonna happen. The check is in the mail. Reality is about to hit Jr straight in the face.

1. Yeah, but it isn't as if anybody is going to DO anything
about it. It seems there aren't any consequences for Bush. The man is true teflon!

2. How about a big body count like in Mosul today?
You think that might shake people up a bit? Something's gotta give...

3. His game is running out....
But he's slick enough to get some Democrats on board to share the blame. And there are always a few Democrats dumb enough to go along...

4. If the Bush WH says it went well,
then it went well (no one should argue). That is what the MSM will "report".

Same with the economic policy. It is working. Repeat it enough times and the MSM will "report" it as fact!

:argh:

6. Any evidence of that, or just a gut feeling? Not trying to flame, I'm just
curious:)

7. A lifetime of experience.....
Sooner or later, we have to pay our bills. We cannot bullshit our way through forever. It's called "reality".

8. There Will Be NO COMEUPPANCE! None I Say!
The propoganda will be increased many fold, then there will be another terror attack and Chimpy will stand on some rubble with a bullhorn and all will be forgotten and forgiven (or so we will be told)...

9. I disagree Beetwasher...
I think the clock is ticking on Chimpy and he's going to have the most challenging four years of any president of recent memory, all brought about by his ill-advised decisions, economically and militarily. And I don't think he has an idea of what to do about it.

11. I Hope You're Right, Brother!
I sincerely do...It's hard not to be cynical these days though...Your optimism certainly is a breath of fresh air!

You see, I think it's actually all going according to plan for them.
