Anti-war shift seen post-Kerry
The latest poll WP-ABC NEWS poll results are the first time a majority of Americans have admitted that the war in Iraq was a mistake. Most disapprove of Bush's Iraqi policy, Rumsfeld's job performance, and are skeptical about the future of U.S. occupation. All of these factors could serve as a turning point in public opinion and lead to a realization, within the administration, that the war cannot be maintained at its current levels. Thus, after the Jan. 30th elections (if they have an ounce of legitimacy) we may see some reduction in forces and influence.

Public disapproval over Bush's handling in Iraq and the sense that the war is "not worth fighting" are at their highest today, after the election. This serves as yet another testament to the failure of John Kerry in shaping the Iraqi debate and using the news in Iraq to his advantage. The public realization (in great majority) that the war was not worth fighting was not enhanced by the clever catchphrases of John Kerry ("wrong war, wrong place, wrong time"). Instead, he served as a distraction from the events on the ground and the ever-increasing U.S. casualty rate.

8. I think they did -- only now with the election over, the pollsters
aren't slanting the polling to be pro-war anymore because it is a fait-accompli (or however you spell it)

2. Kerry did win among people who thought Iraq
was the major concern. I don't know if it was his fault he didn't benefit more, or the result of Rove doing a good job of distracting the public by focusing in gay marriage, terrorism, etc. Now the campaign fog is gone, and Bush's incompetence is clearer than ever. Of course, we DUers have known that for years.

3. The reason why this "appears" to be just happening
Is because the pollsters were trying to boost Bush's image and make a fixed election "appear" as a mandate. The majority of people have been against the war and Bush all along.

See the matrix for what it really is people. Take the red pill.

5. I agree,,, Many times on CNN only the polls sympathetic to BushCo

were reported and the negative polls ignored,,,,

Much his "popularity" has been smoke & mirrors, that and plain ol 'bought & paid for' pundits.

9. I'm confused. Does this mean that the blue states took the red
pill and the red states took the blue pill?

11. Yes, that is it precisely.
In the story "The Matrix" those who chose to see the Matrix for what it really is took the 'red pill'.

Ironic isn't it?

4. BULLSHIT!
The election was a FRAUD, the polling leading up to the election was a FRAUD, this cabal that committed treasonous coups d'etat in 2000 and 2004 is the biggest FRAUD in history.

Johnny K WON THE ELECTION. It was not Kerry's fault, it is The People's fault for not throwing the traitors in power out into the street.

The American people just accepted a hand-grenade without a pin (or brain), and now their realizing what they've done. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

14. not enough of the people who wanted John Kerry
had their votes counted. America really wanted Kerry, and the war to end, and no drilling in Alaskan wildernesses. But they didn't get to have their votes counted. Corporate America is happy, and I guess that's all that matters anymore.

15. JFK2 was never anti-Iraq War
He voted for the resolution. He publicly stated that he would do the same thing today, knowing what he now knows. One of his advisors, Jamie Rubin, even went so far as to state that John Kerry would have invaded Iraq as well.

Kerry's differences with Bush on Iraq were more along the lines of the Bush approach botching the operation. Outside of his catchphrase "The wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time..." Kerry didn't say anything substansive that opposed the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

IIRC, the vast majority of delegates to the Dem convention were anti-war, but the party bosses enforced the line of embracing militarism in the post-9/11 era.

13. what a bunch of crap, the media themselves never held bush accountable
so anytime Kerry criticized Bush it didn't have much affect. much of the bad news which is shaping public opinion now came out AFTER the fucking election like the rumsfeld thing. and the whole thing with republicans criticizing rumsfeld and calling for him to resign. kerry was calling for this years before they did anything. but the whores only think it's news if the republicans do it.

watch the media go back to whoring for republicans as we get closer to the 2006 elections.

and Kerry DID win almost all votes among those who were concerned about iraq. these people most likely get their news from something other than tv news.
