Iraq: Tuesday bloody Tuesday
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6727646/

A rocket attack on a crowded dining hall at a U.S. base in Mosul on Tuesday left at least 22 people dead — including at least 13 American soldiers, according to a reporter on the scene. More than 50 others were wounded in the attack, which was claimed by a radical Muslim group, Ansar al-Sunnah.

Jeremy Redmon, a Richmond (Va). Times-Dispatch reporter embedded with the 276th Engineer Battalion in Mosul, reported on the newspaper's Web site that at least two of the dead and two of the wounded were assigned to the Richmond-based unit.

He said that the rocket or rockets struck a large tented mess hall at about noon, as it was crowded with hundreds of soldiers and some civilians eating lunch. Multiple explosions from the rockets sprayed shrapnel and knocked soldiers off their feet and out of their seats, Redmon said.

Pentagon officials told NBC News that 22 people were killed in the attack, but had no breakdown on whether the dead were soldiers, civilian contractors or Iraqi troops stationed at the base, but Redmon reported that 13 U.S. soldiers were killed.

Enough is enough. Bring the troops home.
