Do freepers know Moon tears down crosses?

I've seen this story before, but it amazes me that Moon is so central to the GOP propaganda machine without making the religious right at least a little squeamish.

You would think he would be a bigger target as an anti-Christ than anything we do that at least shows respect for the Christian position.

Tear Down the Cross

Why is President Bush supporting a group trying to convince African-American churches to literally throw their crosses in the trash?

by John Gorenfeld, Contributor
12.21.04

This wintry season, as the faithful continue to receive alarming reports from the news that Republicans are all that stand between them and the outlawing of Christmas itself by hordes of secular humanists, the two presidents Bush have endorsed a powerful conservative interest group specializing in removing the cross -- not from schools or courthouses, but from churches.

Rather than the traditional egg hunt, this group, calling itself the American Clergy Leadership Conference, sponsored a nationwide "Tear Down The Cross" day for Easter, 2003. Last week, leaders in this radical cause presided over a Washington prayer breakfast featuring messages of thanks from the presidents. Former Senator Bob Dole came in person.

Mostly African-American, pastors who joined in 2003's ACLC-sponsored "Tear Down The Cross" won gold watches from the wealthy group, which unabashedly claims in its publications to have stripped churches of over a hundred crosses over the Easter holiday alone. This, movement leaders said, cleared the way for a new age and second messiah.

1. Has it been on TV? No? Then people don't know.
And even if it has been on TV you can't count on people being able to appreciate the meaning.

2. So many people claim that Bush is the Anti-Christ
when Sun Myung Moon would more closely fit the profile.

I don't believe in an anti-christ, but itf I did, I would know that Moon would eb the one.

5. I think it's funny that the religious right is so in league with Moon
By their own standards-he is not a christian nor a conservative jew, so he is a hell-bound religious leader who commits blasphemy every time he preaches. Yet, they will have a mock ceremony in Congress to crown him king(another kind of blashpemy), and use his newspaper to spread their conservative bilge because they share political goals with him. When Pat Robertson quotes the Washington Times on his show, doesn't he get a creepy feeling? He's empowering evil, according to his own professed beliefs about other religions.

Maybe the Revs Robertson and Moon share a language-tongues. That seems pretty high on the pentecostal signs of holiness, even if it is based on a gross misinterpretation of scripture (Acts 2 makes it very clear the gift the apostles are given is the gift to speak real languages, in order to spread the gospel. Paul messed it up later in his epistles by making it into some special gift God gives to prove his love and approval).

3. Moon is a cult leader
in some ways Republicans are the anti-christ. It's ironic that so many "Christians" support politicians that are greedy, corrupt, selfish, and indifferent.

4. No one tells them. If this guy ran the Post, everyone would know.
But it's not common knowledge, unfortunately.
